Barens Busts to Campbell

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Christopher Barens: {5-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} / {4-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{8-Spades}
Robert Campbell: {A-Spades}{9-Spades}{6-Spades} / {10-Spades}{J-Hearts}{J-Spades}{2-Clubs}
Katherine Fleck: {X-}{X-} / {Q-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{5-Spades}{3-Hearts} / {X-}

Christopher Barens was all in on fifth with a pair of sixes showing and Robert Campbell raised. Katherine Fleck called to create a small side pot. Campbell and Fleck checked sixth and a bet of Campbell followed on seventh. "That's not good," Barens said. Fleck needed some time and elected to fold.

Campbell turned over his flush and Barens flashed a straight to join the rail in 29th place.

Weiss Stays Afloat

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Jameson Painter had the {2-Clubs} and Roy Weiss completed. Action folded to Painter who raised to put Weiss all in for 3,700 total.

Roy Weiss: {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} / {J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{Q-Spades} / {2-Hearts}
Jameson Painter: {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} / {2-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{3-Hearts} / {6-Clubs}

Weiss had a big draw on fourth street and made two high pairs to beat Painter's buried nines. Weiss doubled to just over 10,000 but he'll still have a mountain to climb to catch up with the tournament average.

Campbell With Miracle Double

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante
Robert Campbell
Robert Campbell

Alan Myerson and Ronnie Brown have been eliminated and Robert Campbell may very well have been the next casualty to reduce the field further. However, he doubled in spectacular fashion and then doubled a second time. Both times, it was George Alexander that had to suffer.

Robert Campbell: {Q-Clubs}{J-Hearts} / {J-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{8-Spades} / {8-Hearts}
George Alexander: {6-Spades}{7-Spades}{8-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} / {5-Spades}

Two jacks were gone according to table chat by Scott Cole, and Robert Campbell instead got there with running eights to improve to a full house, while Alexander's straight on sixth was no good anymore. It was a pure one-outer for Campbell to remain in contention.

Robert Campbell: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds} / {8-Spades}{5-Spades}{K-Spades}{8-Diamonds} / {2-Hearts}
George Alexander: {9-Hearts}{6-Hearts} / {4-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{A-Spades}{6-Spades} / {4-Spades}

Campbell was then all in after he paired his eight on sixth, which caused plenty of laughter at the table. Alexander was pained and sighed, "I could be drawing dead already," before calling and showing his pair of sixes. Campbell had nines and eights, and Alexander bricked off on seventh to allow Campbell to double once more.

Shebell Triples Up

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Darren Shebell: {3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} / {3-Spades}{10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} / {A-Clubs}
Julien Martini: {X-}{X-} / {6-Clubs}{5-Spades}{2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} / {X-}
George Alexander: {X-}{X-} / {9-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{7-Spades} / {X-}

Darren Shebell was all in and at risk on fifth for exactly four bets and was called by George Alexander and Julien Martini. "Try to bluff me out of that one guys," he said and stood up from his chair. Alexander and Martini checked down sixth and seventh, and Shebell was already celebrating with more chatter. Upon showdown he said "I have rolled up threes" and showed {3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} followed up by the {A-Clubs}.

The dealer let out a dry "duct tape for seat two please" before shipping over the pot to Shebell.

Grospellier Takes It Down with Tens

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Bertrand Grospellier: {X-}{X-} / {10-Spades}{2-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Jeff Lisandro: {X-}{X-} / {K-Spades}{3-Spades}{6-Hearts} - fold
Michael Moore: {X-}{X-} / {A-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} - fold
Ronnie Brown: {X-}{X-} / {2-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{A-Hearts} - fold

Michael Moore led out on fourth street, earning three callers in Jeff Lisandro, Michael Moore and Ronnie Brown.

Grospellier hit a ten to pair his board and decided to lead on fifth, prompting folds from Lisandro and Moore. Brown counted his remaining stack and thought for a bit. Then he turned his cards face down and Grospellier claimed the pot.

Barens Doubles Through Shebell

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Darren Shebell: {A-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} / {9-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} / {3-Clubs}
Christopher Barens: {6-Diamonds}{6-Spades} / {5-Clubs}{9-Spades}{9-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} / {4-Hearts}

Darren Shebell just called and Christopher Barens completed. Shebell let Barrens bet on fourth and called. Barens paired his nine and moved all in for 1,200. Shebell called with a pair of aces but Barens was ahead with buried sixes for two pair.

Shebell's hand didn't improve on the following streets and Barens secured the double.

"Yeah!" Barens said with a smile on his face, celebrating his survival.

Cannon Busts to Dervolgen

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Andrew Van Dervolgen: {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds} / {Q-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{Q-Spades} / {X-}
Timothy Cannon: {3-Spades}{2-Diamonds} / {2-Spades}{9-Hearts}{5-Spades}{K-Clubs} / {8-Clubs}

After one player had completed, Andrew Van Dervolgen made it three bets and short stack Timothy Cannon four-bet, forcing out the other player in the hand. Van Dervolgen capped it at five bets and Cannon called. They got it in on fourth with Cannon at risk for just 2,700 and he was in dire shape with a pair of deuces. Van Dervolgen had aces in the hole and improved to aces and queens on sixth. Cannon didn't catch any of the two remaining deuces in the deck to exit in 32nd place.

Lisandro Sends Ferdinand to the Rail

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Robert Ferdinand was on a nub for a while and he couldn't recover. Six-time bracelet winner Jeff Lisandro claimed the rest of Ferdinand's chips after they ended up all in on fourth street.

Jeff Lisandro: {J-Clubs}{9-Spades}{Q-Spades}{J-Spades}
Robert Ferdinand: {6-}{5-}{7-}{8-}

Lisandro had a pair while Ferdinand hoped to fill his open-ended straight draw. Lisandro, however, spiked two other spade cards and made Ferdinand's hand irrelevant.

Lisandro: {J-Clubs}{9-Spades}{Q-Spades}{J-Spades}{7-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{A-Spades}
Ferdinand: {6-}{5-}{7-}{8-}{5-}{3-}{X-}
