Grapenthien Takes Down a Family Pot

Level 17 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

All five players on Table #5 made it to fourth street in a completed pot. Michael McKenna then fired, earning three calls before James Obst announced, "Sorry guys," as he folded.

"Party pooper," Seiken joked.

Fifth street saw Seiken fire and they were still four to sixth street where he blasted again. McKenna finally gave up but Grapenthien and Yu continued to the river.

Grapenthien bet on the last round, earning a fold from Yu but Seiken made it to the showdown, calling.

"Flush," Grapenthien declared and proved it when he rolled over his hand. Seiken couldn't beat that.

James Obst: {X-}{X-} / {6-Diamonds}{3-Spades} - fold
Michael McKenna: {X-}{X-} / {10-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{2-Clubs} - fold
Ben Yu: {X-}{X-} / {4-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{J-Spades} / {X-} - fold

Paul Mangine: {A-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{9-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{X-}

Petrov Looks into Eights Full

Level 16 : 6,000/12,000, 1,500 ante

Matt Grapenthien bet on fourth street and Yordan Petrov check-called with ace-five. Grapenthien hit a pair of eights on fifth and led out, earning another call.

Grapenthien continued firing on sixth but Petrov countered with a raise. Grapenthien, however, made it three bets and Petrov only called.

Grapenthien tossed in one more bet on the river and Petrov quickly called only to see Grapenthien roll over eights full. Petrov showed the table that he had trip fives and then sent his cards to the muck.

Matt Grapenthien: {10-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{7-Spades} / {10-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{8-Spades}{3-Clubs}

Birman Doesn't Brick This Time

Level 16 : 6,000/12,000, 1,500 ante

Picked up on fourth street, Jordan Siegel bet into the pot with queen-ten suited. Yaniv Birman called and Ben Yu called as well. Birman hit a pair of sevens on fifth and led out in the betting round. Yu gave up but Siegel called. Birman barreled sixth and seventh and Siegel called him down.

Ben Yu: {X-}{X-} / {K-Clubs}{10-Spades}{8-Hearts} - fold
Jordan Siegel: {X-}{X-}{X-} / {Q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{2-Spades}
Yaniv Birman: {5-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} / {4-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{J-Spades}

Birman showed a straight, filled on the river. Siegel mucked, visibly frustrated.

In the meantime, Mark Gregorich was eliminated from the other outer table.
