Douglas Stays In

Level 15 : 1,300/2,500, 0 ante

Justin Vold ended up mucking after being unable to beat the high of Jermaine Reid and the low of James Douglas on a board of {Q-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}. Reid had {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{J-Hearts} and won the bigger side pot, while Douglas stayed in contention with the {A-Hearts}{10-Spades}{8-Hearts}{3-Clubs}.

Left and right on the other tables, though, the players kept busting soon after the bubble burst to see the field reduced to just 127 contenders. A list of casualties is to follow shortly.

Scholl Bubbles; All in the Money

Level 15 : 1,300/2,500, 0 ante
Denny Axel burst the bubble
Denny Axel burst the bubble

Within a few minutes from each other, several players busted and the last of them was Benjamin Scholl. His cards were all but mucked as Denny Axel claimed the entire pot with {A-Hearts}{J-Spades}{7-Spades}{2-Hearts} for the nut low and two pair on a board of {Q-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{J-Spades}{7-Diamonds}.

According to other players at the table, Scholl had {A-}{7-}{5-}{3-} for the second nut low and worse two pair to become the last player to leave empty-handed.

Kosach and Chang Survive Bubble

Level 15 : 1,300/2,500, 0 ante

Shortly before the bubble burst, Sergey Kosach was all in and at risk against Danny Chang. On a {7-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{9-Hearts}{5-Spades} board, Chang put Kosach in for his final chips and Kosach called.

Sergey Kosach: {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{3-Clubs}
Danny Chang: {9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{2-Clubs}

Kosach got the best both ways: a straight for high and a better seventy-six for low.

Chang, left with around 20,000, after the hand, raised the next hand in the small blind and Douglas Exman defended his big blind. On the {A-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop, Exman called a bet from Chang.

The turn was the {2-Spades} and Chang bet, Exman raised, Chang shoved, and Exman called.

Chang: {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Exman: {A-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{2-Clubs}

It was a cooler for Exman, who was holding the underfull. The river was the {9-Diamonds} and Exman was left with one big bet.

888 Poker Spotlight: Chris Moorman Calls for the British Rail

Level 15 : 1,300/2,500, 0 ante

Team 888 Ambassador & World Series of Poker Bracelet winner Chris Moorman chats with [Removed:139] about the $3k Shootout event, and the upcoming summer.

Moorman's main goal is, of course, to make a final table so he can bring in the oh-so-famous British rail. If you've never seen a British rail in action, well, let's just say the entertainment value is quite high. (As is the stock behind the bar)

Nasty Beat for Dennis

Level 15 : 1,300/2,500, 0 ante
Pamela McPeak
Pamela McPeak

On the turn of a board {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{J-Hearts}{7-Spades}, Morty Dennis checked and then raised all in over the top of a bet by Pamela McPeak, who quickly called the extra few chips.

Morty Dennis: {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Spades}
Pamela McPeak: {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{2-Hearts}

Dennis was in excellent shape with the better high and low hand as well as the flush draw, but a cruel {Q-Clubs} on the river gave McPeak the full house and Dennis a bad beat story to tell. One table over, Patrick Gunn also ran out of chips to reduce the field to the last 143 hopefuls.

Pursley Keeps Stacking

Level 14 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante

As the bubble starts to approach, chipleader James Pursley just busted Jason Gooch to extend his chip lead even further. A short stacked Gooch was all in for his final chips and Pursley was building a side pot with Hernan Salazar.

On a {K-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades} rundown, Salazar check-called two bets from Pursley, then check-folded the river.

Jason Gooch: {A-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{2-Hearts}
James Pursley: {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}

There was no qualifying low hand and Pursley's queens full of kings ended it for Gooch.
