Hakim Eliminates Kuma

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Jeff Hakim and Jasthi Kumar were heads-up on the turn on a {j-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} board. There was close to 200,000 already in the main pot and Hakim fired out a bet of 77,000.

Kumar called and the river was the {a-Clubs}. Kumar slide out a stack of green chips covering Kumar — who had 200,000 behind — and Kumar called.

Hakim turned over his {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} for a flopped set and Kumar fired his hand face down into the muck. Kumar was eliminated and Hakim is now in a neck and neck battle for the chip lead with 1,115,000 and less than one level of play left in the night.

Sucov Takes a Hit from Kornuth

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Chance Kornuth
Chance Kornuth

Edan Sucov has just taken a dent to his stack and it was at the hand of Chance Kornuth. Sucov had opened to 18,000 and Kornuth shoved all in for 137,000. Sucov made the call and they turned their cards on their backs.

Chance Kornuth: {j-Hearts}{j-Spades}
Edan Sucov: {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

The flop came {j-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{2-Clubs}. It was a set for Kornuth and a gutshot for Sucov. The {5-Diamonds} turn brought out a flush draw as well for Sucov but the {q-Spades} river gave Kornuth a boat and a double-up.

Jacob Naumann

Javier Fernadez raised to 18,000 from middle position and Jacob Naumann reraised to 56,000. It folded back to Fernadez who called and they went heads-up to the {k-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{7-Hearts} flop. Both players knuckled the felt and the turn was the {4-Spades}.

Fernandez checked, Naumann bet 28,000 and Fernadez quickly folded.

"Pocket kings this time?" Fernandez asked.

"No, not this time," Naumann responded.

Mantovani Hits

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

It was all-in preflop for Alexandre Mantovani and one player made the call. Mantovani started the hand with around 12 big blinds, so he was the one with his tournament life on the line.

Alexandre Mantovani: {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Opponent: {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}

It came {10-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{10-Hearts} on the flop and Mantovani still needed some help. The {8-Clubs} didn't bring any but it was a {k-Spades} on the river and Mantovani spiked his three-outer to double up.

Big Action Preflop

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

The last hand took some time to play out and a winner was declared before any community cards were dealt.

Alex Keating had opened to 13,000 and was called on his left by Antal Mezei. It then folded to Javier Fernandez on the button who upped it to 64,000. Keating then went deep into the tank until the clock was called. He decided to pass and Mezei moved all in. It was a quick fold from Fernandez and Mezei chipped up.
