Kessler Shows Down Another Good Hand

Level 4 : 300/600, 0 ante
Allen Kessler
Allen Kessler

Stud Hi-Lo

Allen Kessler: {x-}{x-}/{3-Hearts}{4-Spades}{6-Spades}{7-Diamonds}/{x-}
Opponent: {x-}{x-}/{A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}/{x-}

Picking up with the action on fourth street, Allen Kessler bet and his opponent called.

Kessler continued to bet on fifth and sixth and his opponent called each time. On seventh, Kessler put the player in for his final 250 chips and the player called down.

After seventh street betting, Kessler showed down his {5-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{J-Hearts} for a straight and a low. His opponent said that he only had a pair of queens. That would earn Kessler the pot, sending his opponent to the rail.

"Have you seen me show down a bad hand all day?" Kessler said. "I had rolled up queens earlier and that was the first time I've been rolled up all summer."

Frank Kassela: {8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{K-Clubs}
Ylon Schwartz: {7-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{2-Spades}{9-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}

Kassela ended up making a pair of queens to take down the high while Schwartz made a seventy-six low to take the low pot. Kassela survived but only sits right around 3,000 chips.

Sokoloff Quarters to Chip Up

Level 4 : 300/600, 0 ante

Omaha Hi-Lo

A player opened with a raise from early position and Paul Sokoloff called from the cutoff. The flop was {A-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and the opening player put out a bet. Sokoloff called.

The turn was the {10-Diamonds} and this time the player checked and Sokoloff bet. His opponent called.

Brandon Cantu was the bring in with the {2-Hearts} and the player to his left completed with the {K-Spades}. One more player called with the {9-Diamonds} before Mark Provenzano called with his {6-Clubs}. Cantu tagged along as well.

Brandon Cantu: {x-}{x-}/{2-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{4-Spades}/{x-}
Opponent 1: {x-}{x-}/{K-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{7-Hearts}/{x-}
Mark Provenzano: {x-}{x-}/{6-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{J-Spades} — Folded on fifth

Rosario Takes Half the Pot

Level 3 : 250/500, 0 ante
Shirley Rosario
Shirley Rosario

Omaha Hi-Lo

The board was {10-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and action checked to Shirley Rosario who had position on three opponents. She put out a bet and Jeff Madsen folded. Two other players called.

The turn was the {8-Clubs} and action checked to Rosario again. She bet and one of her opponents called before the other player in the hand made it two bets. Both players called.

On the {5-Diamonds} river, action checked to the player in middle position who bet again. Rosario made it two bets and the other player in the hand folded. The other player called. Rosario showed down her {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} for the wheel and nut low and her opponent was also holding {A-}{4-} so they chopped the pot.

Rosario isn't having the best start to the day and despite raking in the pot she still sits with right around 5,000 chips.
