Cantu Can't Force a Fold

Level 3 : 250/500, 0 ante

Stud Hi-Lo

Brandon Cantu was the bring in with the {2-Hearts} and the player to his left completed with the {K-Spades}. One more player called with the {9-Diamonds} before Mark Provenzano called with his {6-Clubs}. Cantu tagged along as well.

Brandon Cantu: {x-}{x-}/{2-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{4-Spades}/{x-}
Opponent 1: {x-}{x-}/{K-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{7-Hearts}/{x-}
Mark Provenzano: {x-}{x-}/{6-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{J-Spades} — Folded on fifth
Opponent 2: {x-}{x-}/{9-Diamonds}{A-Spades} — Folded on fourth

Action checked over to Cantu on fourth street and he bet. He was called by the player to his left and Provenzano. On fifth, Cantu bet again. This time the player to his left called while Provenzano folded.

Cantu bet again on sixth street, as well as seventh and his opponent called each time. Cantu tabled his {4-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{6-Spades} for a pair of fours and a six-low, but his opponent was holding {K-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{6-Diamonds} for a pair of kings and he was able to take half the pot.

Kessler Shows Down Another Good Hand

Allen Kessler
Allen Kessler

Stud Hi-Lo

Allen Kessler: {x-}{x-}/{3-Hearts}{4-Spades}{6-Spades}{7-Diamonds}/{x-}
Opponent: {x-}{x-}/{A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}/{x-}

Picking up with the action on fourth street, Allen Kessler bet and his opponent called.

Kessler continued to bet on fifth and sixth and his opponent called each time. On seventh, Kessler put the player in for his final 250 chips and the player called down.

After seventh street betting, Kessler showed down his {5-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{J-Hearts} for a straight and a low. His opponent said that he only had a pair of queens. That would earn Kessler the pot, sending his opponent to the rail.

"Have you seen me show down a bad hand all day?" Kessler said. "I had rolled up queens earlier and that was the first time I've been rolled up all summer."
