On a flop of , Arne Ruge was first to act. He put out a bet of 52,000 from the blinds and David Eldridge called from the cutoff.
The turn was the and Ruge thought for a bit, burning through one time extension before putting out a bet of 75,000. Eldridge called.
Ruge shoved for just over 200,000 on the river and Eldridge called with extreme speed. Ruge showed , but it was no good as Eldridge was holding for a flopped full house. Eldridge took down the pot and pushed to around 800,000 while Ruge exited the tournament area.
With a little over 40,000 in the middle and the board reading , Dario Sammartino led out for 40,000 from the big blind. Elio Fox raised to 110,000 from middle position and the action was on Larry Greenberg in the hijack. Greenberg tanked for over a minute and then elected to fold. Sammartino made the call and the landed on the river.
Sammartino checked to Fox who pushed in a bet of 250,000. It was now Sammartino's turn to give his decision some thought and he came to the same conclusion as he laid down his hand as well.
Darren Elias raised to 12,000 from early position and was called by Blake Bohn on the button and Jason Mercier in the big blind. The flop came and Elias continued for 15,000. Bohn called and Mercier got out of the way.
The turn brought the and Elias chose to check. Bohn seized the opportunity to bet 31,000 but Elias stuck around to see the on the river. Elias checked again and Bohn checked behind. Elias tabled for two pair and Bohn tossed his cards away.
Arriving at the table in the midst of the preflop action, Jason Koon had four-bet to 80,000 from the big blind. The initial raiser had already folded, and action was on Tom Marchese who had previously three-bet to 35,000 from the button. Marchese called after a few moments.
The flop fell , Koon bet 45,000, Marchese raised all in for 246,000, and Koon folded after some thought.
Nick Petrangelo opened to 10,000 from under the gun and the action folded to Cary Katz who jammed all in for 96,500 from the small blind. Jason Mercier was in the big blind and was soon in the tank as well. He eyed up Petrangelo's stack that was roughly around 110,000 and then disgustedly threw his cards to the muck.
"Even though you're a short-stack ninja, I think this is just too strong to fold," Petrangelo said to Katz as he threw calling chips into the pot.
Petrangelo turned over but Katz had the medicine for that hand with the . "Ughhh," Petrangelo let out a grunt as the dealer fanned the flop of to give Katz full control of the hand. The turn was the and the river brought the to give Katz a full double-up.
Mercier, meanwhile, had let the table know he folded ace-queen and gently banged the table when the river hit the felt as he would have won the hand. "Do you think the same cards would have come if I was in there?" Mercier asked the dealer.
Down to 12,000, Petrangelo busted shortly thereafter.
