Obst Doubles Through Kassela; Loses Some Again

Level 17 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Frank Kassela: {X-}{X-} / {10-}{8-}{4-}
James Obst: {X-}{X-} / {7-}{4-}{6-}

On fourth, James Obst bet and Frank Kassela called. Obst bet fifth, Kassela raised and Obst called all in. Here is what they ended up with:

Frank Kassela: {2-}{3-} / {10-}{8-}{4-}
James Obst: {K-}{9-} / {7-}{4-}{6-}

Obst picked up the {5-} to jump into the lead, while Kassela's {J-} and {Q-} run out failed to improve his hand. Obst finished with an {A-} and doubled with a seven-six.

"I just can't beat you," Kassela said, and Eric Rodawig, who had folded on fourth, joked "next time let me do it."

Shortly after, Obst got into a hand with Brian Hastings.

James Obst: {X-}{X-} / {6-}{10-}{4-}{4-} / {X-}
Brian Hastings: {X-}{X-} / {2-}{9-}{8-}{A-} / {X-}

Obst bet fifth and Hastings called. Obst then paired up on sixth and Hastings bet, Obst called. Both checked seventh and Hastings announced an eight, showed the {5-}{4-}{X-}, which won the pot and sent Obst back into the same short stack he held prior to the clash with Kassela.
