Deadman on the Rise

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Simon Deadman

The action folded to Simon Deadman in the small blind and he raised to 2,400 which his opponent in the big blind called. His continuation-bet on the {k-Clubs}{3-Spades}{7-Diamonds} flop was again called and, when the turn was revealed to be the {10-Spades}, his 6,000 bet was raised all in.

Deadman made the call for an extra 14,000 and revealed {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}. His opponent also had top pair with {k-Spades}{9-Diamonds} but was behind and needed help on the river. The {6-Hearts} final card did not change the result and Deadman moved up to 50,000.

Sylvia Takes From Allain

Level 11 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Adrien Allain was the man to double Sylvia up
Adrien Allain was the man to double Sylvia up

Jesse Sylvia moved all in for 8,300 from early position and everyone folded until Adrien Allain moved all his chips into the middle.

Sylvia: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
Allain: {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}

Board: {4-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{k-Hearts} {4-Diamonds} {q-Spades}

It was a classic race that was over by the turn as Sylvia's flopped trips turned into a full house to secure the double and his tournament life for the time being.

Chen Doubles Through Bicknell

Level 10 : 400/800, 100 ante

Kristen Bicknell raised to 1,600 and got one call before Cory Chen moved all in for 5,600 from the blinds. Bicknell then announced all in herself and got her other opponent to fold.

Kristen Bicknell: {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Cory Chen: {a-Spades}{6-Diamonds}

Board: {q-Spades}{4-Spades}{5-Spades} {a-Diamonds} {a-Clubs}

Bicknell took the lead on the flop with top pair, but Chen had the nut flush draw and the ace overcard still to hit. It was the ace that came on the turn, followed by another ace on the river for a full double-up.
