Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

At the feature table, Andreas Kniep raised to 21,000 and Davidi Kitai called in position. The flop was {K-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{9-Spades} and Kitai called another 21,000 bet from Kniep. Both players checked the {7-Clubs} on the turn.

The river was the {2-Hearts} and Kniep check-called 18,000 from Kitai. Kitai showed {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} but Kniep held the winner with {K-Spades}{Q-Hearts}

Takayama Two-Outers Paur in Near Million Pot

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Mike Takayama
Mike Takayama

Taylor Paur was standing next to his seat with a stunned look on his face and no chips in front of him. After receiving the card with his finishing position from the chip runner, he made his way out of the Amazon room.

Mike Takayama was the one stacking heaps and the table collectively recapped the action that just transpired. Paur had raised to 16,000 from the hijack and Ema Zajmovic had called from the cutoff. Mike Takayama then three-bet to 77,000 on the button, Paur four-bet shoved for 416,000, Zajmovic folded and Takayama called.

Paur held {J-}{J-} and Takayama was a dog with {10-}{10-}. However, the {10-} fell in the window to ship the almost seven-figure pot over to the Filipino bracelet winner.

"It's all my fault," Zajmovic chuckled.

Harwood Eliminated by Kaplan

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Loni Harwood
Loni Harwood

The full board of {7-Clubs}{2-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{5-Spades} was spread by the dealer and Loni Harwood had bet out 125,000 after Jaime Kaplan had checked from the big blind.

Kaplan responded by check-raising all in for 465,000, and Harwood was in the tank.

Jordan Young called over the PokerNews reporter and explained to him that Harwood had bet every street, and Kaplan had check-called each time until check-shoving the river.

Harwood deliberated for a further minute and then called all in for roughly 430,000 total and tabled her {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}.

Kaplan revealed his {5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} for a rivered full house, and Harwood was eliminated from the Main Event.

Hata Chips Up

The seat that formerly belonged to Daniel McAulay was filled with a new player, who then got his stack in with {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}. Aymon Hata, who started the day with just 70,000, looked him up with {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} and remained ahead on a blank board to move up to more than half a million.

Hanks Calls Down to Move Over 900k

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Brent Hanks
Brent Hanks

There was a pot of over 200,000 already in the middle of the table and the board showed {Q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}. Brent Hanks was in position against one opponent who moved all in on the river for right around 260,000.

"How much do you have?" Hanks asked, leaning over the table. "Do you have more than me?"

His opponent counted out his stack and upon getting the final total, Hanks called.

"I just have a five," the player said showing {A-Spades}{5-Spades}.

It was no good as Hanks had {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades} and that would earn him the pot, pushing him to 935,000 chips.

One For Duhamel

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Action folded to Jonathan Duhamel who opened to 18,000 from the cutoff. Action folded to the big blind who made it 60,000 and Duhamel called.

The flop came down {A-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{9-Spades} and the big blind checked to Duhamel who put out a bet of 40,000. It was enough as the big blind folded and Duhamel was able to take down the small pot to move over 500,000 chips.
