Beylin Tests Panka for His Stack

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

In what looked to be a three-bet pot with about 95,000 in the middle, Dominik Panka in the hijack and Konstantin Beylin on the button checked down {6-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{6-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{k-Spades} until Panka bet 50,000 on the river. Beylin set him in for 175,000 more and Panka tanked for a couple of minutes before folding with a shake of his head.

The action folded to Paul Volpe in the cutoff and he raised. Stephen Song three-bet from the small blind and the big blind folded. With the action back on Volpe he four-bet and Song five-bet shoved all in covering Volpe.

Volpe snap called for 487,000 turning over {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs} and Song showed {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}. The board ran out {a-Spades}{k-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and Volpe secured the massive double up.

No Mercy by Merrilees

On the tail end of a three-way pot, the {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{7-Spades}{4-Spades} turn was checked through and Daniel Merrilees bet the {9-Hearts} river for 150,000. Elgio Gomez Barrios called from two seats over, as did another player, and Merrilees tabled the {8-Spades}{5-Spades}. The dealer announced "showdown please" despite no all in showdown, and Gomez Barrios exposed his {J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for a straight while the third player mucked.

One hand later, Gomez Barrios moved all in for 34,000 and Merrilees just called on the button. The small blind moved all in for around 90,000 and the Brit snap-called.

Elgio Gomez Barrios: {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs}
Small blind: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}
Daniel Merrilees: {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}

The {A-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} instantly gave Merrilees top set, and he scored a double knockout with the {5-Spades} turn and {5-Clubs} river run out.

He moved tables, causing "woahhh's" and then came over to carry the rest of his belongings, once the Brit sat down, he greeted everyone with a "what's up boys."

Enright Stays Alive, Leaves Chan Short

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Barbara Enright is most famously known as the only woman in poker to make the WSOP Main Event final table. She is looking for another repeat performance this year and she can thank her lucky stars that she is still alive. Enright pushed all in for 115,000 from early position and Marc-Etienne McLaughlin reshoved for a little over 200,000 in middle position. Johnny Chan was in the cutoff and also moved the last of his 198,000 into the middle.

Barbara Enright: {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}
Johnny Chan: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}
Marc-Etienne McLaughlin: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

Three massive hands resulted in three all in with McLaughlin having both players covered. The flop came {9-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and Enright took the lead with a set of nines. The {3-Diamonds} on the turn and the {q-Spades} on the river changed nothing and Enright got a full triple up. Chan would take the smaller side pot and McLaughlin was left on crumbs.

O'Neal Takes One from Lee

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Three players saw a flop of {9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{5-Hearts} and it checked to Stanley Lee who bet 31,000 into a main pot of about 75,000. Brandon O'Neal called and they went heads up to the {q-Hearts} turn.

Lee check-called a bet of 44,000 from O'Neal and the {9-Clubs} hit the river. Lee checked, O'Neal slid out a bet of 170,000 and Lee quickly folded. "Show the bluff one time" Lee said but O'Neal did not oblige and flicked his hand face down into the muck.
