Esch Runs Into Aces

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Noam Freedman opened to 140,000 in early position and Dieter Esch quickly three-bet to 400,000 a couple of seats over. The action folded back to Freedman who instantly announced all in and Esch called off his stack of around 900,000.

Noam Freedman: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}
Dieter Esch: {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}

Freedman held a commanding lead over Esch and the flop of {9-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} changed nothing. The {3-Diamonds} on the turn was safe for Freedman as was the {5-Hearts} on the river and Esch was eliminated.

Li Wakes Up with Aces for a Double KO

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Fred Li
Fred Li

Jiri Kocab pushed all in from the hijack for around 200,000 and Tihomir Ivanov re-shoved all in for 585,000 from the cutoff. Fred Li asked for a count on the button and the also moved all in, having both players covered.

Fred Li: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}
Tihomir Ivanov: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Jiri Kocab: {6-Spades}{5-Clubs}

Li was in a great position to score a double knockout and the flop of {j-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} changed none of that. The {q-Spades} on the turn and the {3-Hearts} on the river were safe for Li as he accumulated a stack of over 2 million chips.

Margolin Adding to Chip Lead

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

When action folded around to Timur Margolin on the button, he raised to 100,000. Patrick Truong, who had just lost a big chunk of his chips, three-bet shoved his remaining stack, the big blind folded and Margolin made the call. Truong was behind but did have two live cards.

Patrick Truong: {8-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Timur Margolin: {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}

Troung paired one of his cards on the {8-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{4-Spades} flop, but unfortunately so did Margolin. The {6-Hearts} turn and {9-Clubs} were of no help to Truong, and Margolin collected the pot, increasing his already well-above average stack.

Hernandez Flops a Flush to Double Up

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Ernest Hernandez shipped all in for 320,000 in early position and the action folded around to Scott Vener in the big blind. Vener asked for a count and then announced a call for the stack of around six big blinds.

Ernest Hernandez: {a-Spades}{10-Spades}
Scott Vener: {k-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}

The flop came {8-Spades}{5-Spades}{3-Spades} to give Hernandez a flush and Vener was already drawing dead. The insignificant {7-Clubs} and {9-Clubs} completed the board and Hernandez scored a double up.

Button vs. Blind Bluff

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

After action folded around to Davis Aalvik on the button, he raised to 110,000 and was called by Scott Vener from his big blind. Vener checked the {8-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{9-Clubs} flop, Aalvik continued for 110,000 and Vener made the call.

Vener once again checked on the {3-Hearts} turn, and Aalvik continued his aggression with another bet, this time for 200,000, which sent Vener into deep thought. He eventually folded, flashing the {9-Diamonds}, at which time Aalvik returned the favor by tabling {5-Spades}{2-Spades} for the bluff.
