Truong Waits Until the River

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Patrick Truong and Timur Margolin were heads-up in a battle of the big stacks in a three-bet pot. With around 225,000 in the middle, the dealer fanned the flop of {a-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}. Both players checked and the {6-Spades} landed on the turn.

Margolin checked from the big blind again and Truong decided to see the river from middle position. The river was the {2-Clubs} and Margolin checked for the third time. Truong finally tossed in a bet of 180,000 and Margolin looked him up. Truong tabled {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} and that was good enough to force Margolin to muck his cards.

Farnsworth Finds a Fold

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

After Edward Wolff shoved from the hijack position, Michael Farnsworth, on the button and also short-stacked, thought for a few moments before folding. Garrett Beckman, in the small blind and having a slightly bigger stack than Wolff, immediately three-bet shoved, which got a fold from the player in the big blind, and an outburst of relief from Farnsworth. The two players then tabled their hands.

Edward Wolff: {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}
Garrett Beckman: {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}

After the board ran out {2-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{a-Clubs}, eliminating Wolff from the tournament, Farnsworth again sighed and remarked that he folded an ace.

Ace on the River for Fricker

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

After a raise from Wesley Wyvill in middle position, James Fricker called on the button. The big blind moved all in for 47,000 and both Wyvill and Fricker called.

The flop fell {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and Wyvill led out for 26,000. Fricker called and the {7-Clubs} landed on the turn. Both players checked and the {a-Hearts} completed the board. Wyvill checked and then folded to a bet of 30,000 from Fricker. Fricker tabled {a-Spades}{10-Hearts} for two pair while the big blind turned over {j-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} before heading to the payout desk.

Mike Parekh raised to 35,000, and two-time bracelet winner Humberto Brenes who was in the next seat over and on the short stack, contemplated his next move. He then stacked his remaining chips, putting one of his trademark shark card protectors on the top, and pushed in his remaining 116,000 in chips.

Action folded back around to Parekh, he made the call and the players tabled their hands. The board ran out {q-Spades}{7-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{8-Spades}, giving both players full houses, but unfortunately Parekh held the bigger pair, which left Brenes shark-bitten and sent to the rail.

Parekh: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}

Bansal Out-Flips Saechao

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Kao Saechao was all in for his last 230,000 chips and was up against Paawan Bansal who was off to a hot start to begin Day 2. Saechao tabled {a-Spades}{q-Clubs} and was flipping against the {9-Spades}{9-Clubs} of Bansal.

The flop came jack-high and Saechao was in need of some help in order to stay alive. That help did not arrive on the turn or the river and Saechao headed to the payout desk in the first level of the day.

Back-to-Back Triple Ups for Minkin

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Kelly Minkin started the day with just 25,000 chips and appeared she tripled her stack in the very first hand. Minkin was all in again for 90,000 from under the gun and was called by Myung Kil in middle position. Taylor Wilson was in the small blind and moved all in over the top as well. Kil folded and the remaining two hands were tabled.

Kelly Minkin: {q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}
Taylor Wilson: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

The flop of {a-Spades}{5-Clubs}{4-Spades} was not looking good for Minkin after Wilson flopped an ace. The turn brought the {j-Spades} to give Minkin some outs and the {q-Clubs} on the river gave Minkin two pair. After back-to-back triple ups, Minkin has exponentially grown her stack to nearly 300,000.

Ryan Laplante was all in from early position for 55,000 having not looked at his cards yet. Rudy Ayala re-shoved all in from the cutoff and the cards were tabled.

Ryan Laplante: {q-Spades}{2-Hearts}
Rudy Ayala: {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}

The flop came {7-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{4-Spades} and Laplante was left cheering for runner-runner outs. The turn brought the {a-Hearts} to give him a straight draw and the {3-Spades} on the river made his straight to keep him alive.
