Kessler Sends Foxen Down to a Nub

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

Omaha Hi-Lo

Alex Foxen was in the big blind, check-calling Allen Kessler's bet from the button on {4-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}. The board ran out {5-Clubs} and {3-Spades} and Foxen check-called on both turn and river again. Kessler rolled over {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}{9-Clubs}{2-Spades} for a wheel and Foxen threw his cards into the muck. He was left with only around 4,000.

Henson Splits One as Bubble Approaches

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

Omaha Hi-Lo

The turned board read {10-Clubs}{6-Spades}{3-Hearts}{3-Spades} and Ashish Gupta fired in a bet. Ray Henson called and the {2-Clubs} came down on the river. Gupta pushed in another bet and again Henson called.

Gupta tabled {a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} for two pair with a low and Henson turned over {5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{2-Spades} for a straight. The two split up the pot as the bubble draws near.

Grapenthien Triples in Deuce

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

2-7 Triple Draw

Matt Szymaszek raised, Matt Grapenthien moved all in from the button, and Phil Hellmuth called the 6,600 out of the small blind. Szymaszek matched the price as well.

Hellmuth took one, Szymaszek two, and Grapenthien stood pat. No bets were made and Hellmuth and Szymaszek drew one apiece. Hellmuth checked again and Szymaszek fired. Hellmuth was visibly irritated by the bet and he let his hand go.

The last draw went pat-pat and Szymaszek's nut eight was no match to Grapenthien's {7-}{6-}{5-}{3-}{2-}.

Champion Keeps Going

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

2-7 Triple Draw

Defending champion Philip Long thought he was out just a minute ago, but now he's back to 45,000. On the very next hand following the aforementioned encounter against Alex Foxen, Long raised in the cutoff and called when Sachin Bhargava re-raised. Bhargava peeled one, Long two and then they repeated their draws with Long calling another bet in the meantime. Bhargava then fired again and Long called again.

Bhargava stood pat on the final draw and Long needed one. Bhargava checked, Long bet, and Bhargava called. Long spiked what he was looking for as he showed {7-}{6-}{5-}{3-}{2-} to take it down.

Long Avoids Breaking the Winner

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

2-7 Triple Draw

Philip Long was all in before the third draw with Alex Foxen trying to provide the elimination. There was just under 30,000 in the pot and Foxen stood pat. Long put one card aside and thought about breaking his hand. Then he put his five cards together and turned them up, patting.

Long: {10-}{8-}{7-}{4-}{2-}
Foxen: {10-}{8-}{7-}{4-}{3-}

Long stood up as Foxen was turning his hand over but the players at the table let him know that he held the winner with the fifth card deciding.
