Lee Over One Million

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Preston Lee
Preston Lee

Fahredin Mustafov raised to 16,000 from the late position and was called by Martin Magal in the hijack and Preston Lee in the big blind.

They all checked through the {j-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} on the flop to the {4-Hearts} on the turn. Lee bet 40,000 and only Mustafov called.

The river completed the board with the {2-Diamonds}, Lee shoved with the bigger stack and Mustafov snap-called. Lee tabled {k-Clubs}{j-Hearts} for two pair with the king-kicker. Mustafov held {j-Spades}{8-Spades} for the same two pair but with the lower kicker for his run in the Marathon to end for this year.

Charania Can't Catch Up on the River

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Three players were still in the hand with the board reading {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{2-Clubs}. The action checked to Erkut Yilmaz in middle position who bet 74,000 into a pot of around 100,000. Mohsin Charania called from the big blind while the under-the-gun player folded.

The river brought the {a-Hearts} and Charania checked again. Yilmaz checked it back and Charania tabled {k-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for a pair of nines and a missed flush draw. Yilmaz turned over {j-Spades}{10-Diamonds} for a pair of tens and was awarded the pot.

Guilbert Flushes Palmer to the Rail

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Ben Palmer raised it up to 16,000 in the hijack and Johan Guilbert three-bet to 51,000 from the small blind. Palmer four-bet shoved all in for around 180,000 and Guilbert snap-called.

Johan Guilbert: {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}
Ben Palmer: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

The flop came {q-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{5-Clubs} and Guilbert's pair of nines remained in the lead. However, the {a-Hearts} on the turn paired Palmer's ace. The tides turned again on the river as the {10-Hearts} hit the felt and Guilbert made a flush to eliminate Palmer.

Sam Cohen
Sam Cohen

Paul Hizer opened from the button and was called by Sam Cohen and Jared Koppel in the blinds.

The flop came {q-Spades}{4-Hearts}{5-Clubs} for both Cohen and Koppel to check. Hizer bet, Cohen shoved and so did Koppel with the bigger stack. Hizer quickly got out of their way.

Sam Cohen: {a-}{a-}
Jared Koppel: {4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}

Cohen had an overpair while Koppel had a set of fours.

The turn was the {a-Spades} for Cohen to hit a higher set but the {4-Spades} on the river pulled in the gasps as Koppel now hit quads to eliminate Cohen from the tournament.

There was some blind vs blind action with around 100,000 in the middle on the flop of {k-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}. The turn brought the {10-Hearts} and Chris Grigorian checked from the small blind. Denys Shafikov bet 60,000 in the big blind and Grigorian snap-called.

The {10-Clubs} paired the board on the river and Grigorian checked again. Shafikov tossed in a bet of 45,000 and Grigorian instantly announced all in for 285,000. "Yes! Ship it to Armenia!" Grigorian shouted as he pumped the air with his fists.
