Big Hand Between Curry and Ghobrial

Level 38 : 800,000/1,600,000, 1,600,000 ante

Daniel Ghobrial moved all in for 18,000 and Adrian Curry, in the blinds, thought about it for a few minutes before making the call.

It was a flip; Ghobrial with {q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} versus Curry with {5-Hearts}{5-Spades}. The board brought {8-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} but a {10-Spades} on the river saved Ghobrial.

"Why are you calling?" inquired Ghobrial.

"No, why are YOU pushing?!" replied Curry.

"Alright, we're here to gamble after all!" Curry laughed.

"It's the funniest tournament in the world" added Ghobrial.

Rasmussen Eliminates Rathi

Level 39 : 1,000,000/2,000,000, 2,000,000 ante

David Rasmussen and Mahesh Rathi went all in preflop. Rathi, with a stack around 10,000, was behind with {j-Spades}{10-Spades}, facing the {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs} for Rasmussen.

The board {k-Spades}{10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{3-Clubs} brought him no help and he was eliminated in 28th place.

Christensen Doubles, Oloughlin Busts

Level 39 : 1,000,000/2,000,000, 2,000,000 ante

Bryden Baxter shoved about ten big blinds from early position. Everyone folded to Morten Christensen in the big blind, who called all in for his last 12,000,000.

Morten Christensen: {a-Hearts}{7-Spades}
Bryden Baxter: {4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}

The {7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{5-Hearts} flop brought something for both players, but it was Christensen's higher pair that would hang on after the {2-Spades} turn and {q-Diamonds} river.

At the same time at an adjacent table, Jason Oloughlin lost his final chips to leave the field with 26.

Torbey Lefts with Crumbs

Level 39 : 1,000,000/2,000,000, 2,000,000 ante

The flop showed {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} when Amer Torbey bet 6,000,000. Diogo Veiga raised it to 13,000,000 and Torbey moved all-in for a stack around 35,000,0000. Veiga snap-called with a slightly lower stack.

Veiga showed {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} while Torbey tabled {2-Clubs}{2-Spades}. The rest of the board {9-Spades}{7-Hearts} didn't help Torbey and he was left with less than a big blind after that hand.

Torbey managed to triple up the hand after and has now a stack around 8,000,000.

Amer Torbey, with a stack of 14,000,000 after a few double up, moved all in and got called by Andrew Mckenzie to create the following showdown:

Amer Torbey: {a-Spades}{7-Clubs}
Andrew Mckenzie: {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}

Torbey needed to hit on the board but {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}, improving Mckenzie's hand into a full house and Torbey made his way to the cashier. Shortly before Torbey hit the rail, Bryden Baxter bowed out to leave the field with 24 players.

Curry Gets a Fold from Uvaydov

Level 39 : 1,000,000/2,000,000, 2,000,000 ante

The flop read {8-Spades}{4-Spades}{4-Diamonds} when Adrian Curry first checked. David Uvaydov bet 5,500,000 and Curry announced a three-bet for 10,500,000. Uvaydov thought about it for a minute and let it go.
