Last Break of the Night

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

The remaining 440 players are taking their last 20-minute break of the night. When they return, there will be four more levels before the bagging and tagging process begins. It is very likely that the money bubble will burst before the end of the night.

Engel Wins Round Two With Gold

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Ari Engel
Ari Engel

Pot-Limit Omaha

Picking up the action in a four-way pot, on the flop of {j-Clubs}{10-Spades}{4-Spades}, and 21,000 in the middle Jamie Gold bet 10,000. Ari Engel was next to act and he called, both the blinds put their hands in the muck.

The turn was the {k-Hearts}, Gold fired 20,000, Engel moved all-in for 69,500 and Gold snap-called.

Ari Engel: {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{q-Spades}
Jamie Gold: {k-Spades}{7-Spades}{10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

Gold had kings and tens with a flush draw but was going to need some help against Engel's turned Broadway. The {3-Hearts} on the river was a brick, and Engel took a big chunk of Gold's stack while doubling up.

Wilkerson Picks Off a Bluff

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

There was a raise to 10,000 from early position and the button called. Dylan Wilkerson also came along from the big blind to see a flop of {8-Hearts}{7-Spades}{2-Diamonds}. Wilkerson checked to the preflop raiser who continued for 16,000. The button called as did Wilkerson.

The turn was the {9-Clubs} and the action checked around to the {10-Hearts} on the river. Wilkerson led out for a small bet of 21,000 and the guy on his left raised to 100,000. The button quickly folded and Wilkerson went into the tank for a couple of minutes before making the call.

His opponent turned over {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}{9-Spades}{7-Clubs} for two pair while Wilkerson held {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} for a straight.

Hershey On a Heater

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

Over the past couple of levels, Caleb Hershey has emerged as one of the chip leaders alongside Calvin Anderson. Just recently, there was a raise to 17,500 from under the gun and Hershey called from the small blind.

The flop came {10-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} and Hershey counted out a bet of 40,000. His opponent stuck in his last 37,500 chips and the cards were tabled.

Caleb Hershey: {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}{8-Spades}{6-Clubs}
Opponent: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{4-Diamonds}

The {q-Hearts} on the turn gave Hershey a straight and his opponent was already drawing dead to the {a-Hearts} on the river. Hershey collected the pot and is quickly approaching the 700,000 chip mark.

Engel Takes Some From Gold

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Ari Engel opened from early position to 8,500 and the action folded to Jamie Gold in the big blind, and he defended.

The flop got checked around on {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{q-Clubs} and on the turn {10-Clubs} Gold led for 5,000. Engel called fairly quickly and the {7-Hearts} peeled on the river. Gold gave up and check-folded to Engel's 8,000 bet.

No-Limit Hold'em

There was a raise to 9,000 on the button and Jared Jaffee called from the big blind. The flop came {q-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} and Jaffee check-called a bet from his opponent.

The turn brought the {8-Spades} and Jaffee pushed all in for 32,000. His opponent thought for a minute and decided to call. Jaffee tabled {q-Spades}{9-Clubs} and his opponent held {6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}. The {3-Diamonds} completed the board and Jaffee held on to double his stack once again.

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

The action began with the hijack raising to 9,000, and it folded to Rainer Kempe in the big blind. Kempe announced "pot" and both players got their chips all in with Kempe being at risk for roughly 28,000.

Rainer Kempe: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
Cutoff: {q-Spades}{j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{6-Spades}

Kempe smashed the flop {a-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}, giving him aces full, the {5-Hearts} sealed his double up and the river {k-Diamonds} was just for formality.
