Anderson Involved in Most of NLHE Round

Level 34 : 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante
Calvin Anderson
Calvin Anderson

The most recent round of No-Limit Hold'em has seen a lot of Calvin Anderson involvement, dent to stack in the last level or no. Three hands in a row went to him, the first a no-flop pot when he raised small to big blind and Ashish Ahuja folded, the second when he raised the button and took that one down pre, too and the third thusly:

Anderson limped the cutoff for 300,000, small blind Dan Matsuzuki completed and big blind Daniel Moravec checked. The {7-Spades}{8-Hearts}{q-Clubs} flop was checked around. On the {5-Hearts} turn it checked to Anderson who bet 425,000. Morovec alone made the call. On the {k-Spades} river, Morovec checked again and Anderson did the same, waiting for his opponent to show his hand (only the word "pair" had been said). Anderson's {j-Clubs}{8-} was good for the pot, as Moravec's pair turned out to be fives (his hand {10-Spades}{5-Diamonds}.

Moravec Doubles Through Samokovski

Level 34 : 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante

No-Limit Holdem

The action folded around to Daniel Moravec in the small blind, he limped and Simon Samokovski raised to 825,000, which Moravec called.

The dealer spread a flop of {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{5-Clubs}, Moravec quickly moved all-in and Samokovski took about five minutes before making the call.

Daniel Moravec: {q-Clubs}{4-Clubs}
Simon Samokovski: {5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}

Samokovski was in the lead with his pair of fives and was still safe on the {a-Diamonds} turn but the {q-Spades} landed on the river, giving Moravec queens and fives for a double up.

Moravec's Omaha Pocket Nines Hold to Secure Double

Level 34 : 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante
Daniel Moravec
Daniel Moravec

Pot Limit Omaha

All-in preflop, it took little time for Dan Matsuzuki to take on short stack Daniel Moravec, in contrast to the pensive, deliberate betting seen in his last few pots with the deeper-stacked Calvin Anderson. Moravec's 1,8650,000 are now just over six big blinds.

Moravec: {j-Spades}{9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{4-Spades}
Matsuzuki: {a-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}

The board ran out {2-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{2-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}, keeping Moravec's pair of nines the best hand.

Calvin Anderson moved all-in from the cutoff, and the action folded around to Luc Bellervie in the big blind. Bellerive went deep into the tank taking about three-minutes before announcing "call."

Calvin Anderson: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Luc Bellerive: {a-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}

The board ran out {8-Spades}{4-Hearts}{2-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}, with neither player connecting and Bellerive was eliminated in 12th place.

Matsuzuki Wins Huge Pot vs. Calvin Anderson

Level 33 : 120,000/240,000, 240,000 ante
Dan Matsuzuki
Dan Matsuzuki

No-Limit Hold'em

A big pot developed between Calvin Anderson and Dan Matsuzuki, in which every street was bet, and the river proved as dramatic as possible. Anderson raised in position preflop to 550,000 , called by Matsuzuki in the blinds. Matsuzuki checked all three streets, calling a bet of 400,000 on the {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{9-Hearts} flop and 800,000 on the {2-Diamonds} turn. On the {k-} river, however, Matsuzuki check-raised Anderson's bet of 1,575,000 all in, for a total of 2,590,000. Anderson asked for a count and threw in the extra million and change.

Matsuzuki, with {k-Spades}{9-Clubs}, had flopped quads, and Anderson with {k-Clubs}{4-} had rivered nines full of kings.

"What a river," he said, as he paid Matsuzuki a full double up.

Brandon Lamora Eliminated in 14th Place ($10,198)

Level 32 : 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante
Brandon Lamora
Brandon Lamora

No-Limit Hold'em

Brandon Lamora has busted after back to back hands against Raghav Bansal in the No Limit Hold'em round. On the turn of the hand prior to his elimination, Bansal put Lamora to the test on the turn, with the board standing {k-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{5-Clubs}, when he raised Lamora's lead of 500,000 all-in (Lamora had 1,620,000 behind). After a pause, Lamora let his hand go.

"I always have it," Bansal advised him.

The next hand, Lamora moved all in with {k-Spades}{q-Hearts} called, as might be expected, by Bansal who had picked up {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}. The run-out of {a-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{2-Clubs}{9-Clubs} made a pair for Lamora, but it was one rank below kings and that was that.
