Lau More than Doubles

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

With the cards out, Alan Lau was counting his stack, having won a three-way contest which saw the players put their all chips into the middle. Lau had the best of it with {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}, scooping the pot on {q-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{9-Spades}. He eliminated a short-stacked player who had ace-four and got a full double through another player who tabled {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}.

Lau started the hand with 132,000 and he improved to 280,000 or so.

Schiff's Set Scoops

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Emile Schiff raised to 6,000 from early position and action folded around to the player in the big blind who defended. After both players checked the {10-Spades}{q-Spades}{j-Clubs} flop, the big-blind player led out for 6,000 on the {8-Diamonds} turn and Schiff made the call.

Perhaps sensing something in the hand didn't make sense, the player in the big blind then checked the {5-Spades} river, prompting Schiff to put out a bet of 8,000. The big-blind player re-checked his cards, shifted in his seat and made the call, but quickly folded when Schiff tabled {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts} for the turned set that had carried through as the best hand on a very draw-heavy board.

Vandeput Makes the Right Call

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

A player opened to 6,500 and Felix Vandeput three-bet to 19,000 from the button. The small blind player tanked for a minute and opted to call. The initial player folded and the flop appeared {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}. Vandeput 's opponent check-called his continuation bet for 15,000.

The turn brought the {j-Spades} and went check-check. On the river {q-Diamonds}, the small blind led out for 27,000, putting Vandeput into a decision. Vandeput ended up calling and won the pot with {a-Hearts}{a-Spades} while his opponent showed {7-Spades}{7-Hearts}.

Burchfield's Shows Rockets

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Kristopher Burchfield raised to 6,500 from early position and action folded around to the player in big blind who made the call. The big-blind player then check-called a 7,000 continuation bet from Burchfield on the {3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{q-Hearts} flop.

After both players checked the {q-Clubs} turn and the big-blind player again checked the {7-Hearts} river, Burchfield slid out a bet of 9,000, which was called by the big-blind player, who then mucked when Burchfield tabled {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}.

Le Sets Trap and Scoops Big Pot

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

After a player in late position raised it to 6,500, the player on the button then three-bet shoved his remaining stack. Nam Le, sitting in the small blind, then asked for a count. When the dealer confirmed 42,500 total Le made the call, only to have the original raiser four-bet shove behind with a covering stack. Le made the call and was all in as well.

Original Raiser: {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}
Button Player: {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs}
Nam Le: {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}

The board ran out {a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{4-Hearts}{4-Spades}, which sent the big pot to Le and eliminated the player on the button.
