Bleznick Doubles Through Schwartz

Level 16 : 25,000/50,000, 0 ante

2-7 Triple Draw

Event #49: $10,000 Limit 2-7 Lowball Triple Draw Championship bracelet winner Luke Schwartz raised from the cutoff, then called when Jared Bleznick made it three bets in the small blind.

Bleznick drew two while Schwartz drew one, and both players checked. Bleznick drew two and Schwartz drew one again for the second draw, and Bleznick checked. Schwartz bet and Bleznick check-raised. Schwartz called.

Bleznick stood pat on the final draw, while Schwartz drew one. Bleznick bet, leaving himself 20,000 behind. Schwartz tanked for a little over a minute, while Bleznick sat with his arms crossed, waiting for Schwartz's decision. Schwartz eventually raised to put Bleznick at risk, and Bleznick called and fanned {8-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{2-}. Schwartz could only show a defeated {8-}{7-}{4-}{3-}{2-}, while saying, "Incredible you would make that though...so weird."

Shakerchi Makes Queens Up

Level 16 : 25,000/50,000, 0 ante

Stud

Adam Friedman: {x-}{x-} / {4-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} / {x-}
Talal Shakerchi: {x-}{x-} / {7-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} / {x-}

The {2-Spades} was the bring in. Friedman completed his four and Shakerchi made it two bets. Friedman called and then proceeded to check-call every single street until showdown.

After Friedman called the river, Shakerchi tabled {q-Spades}{j-Hearts}{7-Hearts}.

"Queens and sevens," Shakerchi said. The dealer corrected the announcement, saying he had queens and jacks as Friedman mucked.

"Queens and jacks AND sevens!" tablemate John Esposito said.

Only Vitch opted to take a card on the final draw, as both Cates and Monnette stood pat. Cates checked, as did Vitch, and Monnette paused for a moment before checking back as well.

Cates fanned {7-}{5-}{4-}{3-}{2-} for the wheel, Vitch mucked, and Monnette shook his head and showed {8-}{6-}{5-}{3-}{2-}, saying, "Of course you do," towards Cates.
