Fausto Sends One Out Last Hand Before Dinner

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

The under-the-gun player opened for 4,500. From the next seat over Fausto Valdez three-bet to 12,000, and when action folded around to the player in the big blind, she four-bet shoved. The original raiser got out of the way and Valdez made the call.

All-in Player: {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Fausto Valdez: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

The board ran out {j-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{7-Spades}{6-Diamonds}, and the all-in player was eliminated by Valdez's ace-king-high on the last hand before the dinner break.

Dinner Time!

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Players have been sent on their 75-minute dinner break and will return at approximately 5:55 p.m. local time. At that time registration for Day 1a will be officially closed.

Level: 13

Blinds: 1,000/2,500

Ante: 2,500

Premature Celebration

Level 13 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

A player raised it up to 10,000 from middle position, and when action folded to Alex Queen on the button he three-bet shoved. With action back on the original raiser he asked for a count, and after the dealer confirmed 42,000 total he said "Let's go," and made the call.

Alex Queen: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Original Raiser: {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

Queen was good preflop and on the flop of {7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{6-Spades}, but the dealer fanned the {j-Diamonds} on the turn and the original raiser celebrated and shouted "Yes" with one card still to come. That card was the {k-Hearts}, which gave Queen, who quietly scooped the pot, the full double-up.

Hijar Gets His Blind Back

Level 13 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Preflop action folded to the player on the button and he made it 6,000 to play. The small-blind player folded, but Jay Hijar defended his big blind.

Both players then checked through to the river on a board that read {8-Spades}{10-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}, and Hijar put out a bet of 5,000. The button player made the call, but folded after Hijar tabled {q-Spades}{10-Diamonds}.

Jones-Middleton Needs All Five Cards

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

After a raise to 7,500 and a call, Misty Jones-Middleton three-bet shoved all in. When action folded back on the original raiser he made the call and the other player folded.

Misty Jones-Middleton: {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}
Opponent: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}

Jones-Middleton was ahead and needed to win his race. It looked liked the race was over after the {4-Clubs}{a-Spades}{6-Diamonds} flop, and the {5-Hearts} turn didn't help Jones-Middleton. However, the {8-Clubs} river was one of the two cards he was looking for.

Aoki Tables Rockets

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Nobuhiro Aoki raised from the under-the-gun position to 6,500. Action folded around to the big-blind player who made the call. After the big-blind player checked the {6-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} flop, Aoki continued for 6,500 and the big-blind player check-called.

The player in the big blind then led out for 14,000 on the {7-Clubs} turn, which got a call from Aoki. Both players checked the {k-Hearts} river and the big blind player tabled {5-Spades}{5-Clubs}, but was way behind the {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} that Aoki tabled.
