Di Rosa Bubbles

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Joseph Di Rosa Rojas
Joseph Di Rosa Rojas

Chip leader Michael Gagliano opened to 20,000 from middle position and Joseph Di Rosa put in play his last 42,000. Gagliano called.

Di Rosa showed {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts} but Gagliano had two live cards with {q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}.

Moreover, the {2-Clubs}{j-Spades}{10-Clubs} flop gave Gagliano a combo draw and he spiked a flush on the {4-Clubs} turn.

Di Rosia could still survive should a fourth club hit the board, but the river was the {9-Diamonds} and Di Rosa bubbled the tournament, finished in 29th place.

Gagliano Continues to Abuse the Bubble

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Tim Andrew raised to 20,000 in the cutoff and Michael Gagliano made it 90,000 from the small blind. Andrew needed only a few seconds before he called.

The flop fell {9-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and Gagliano bet 50,000. Andrew called.

Both players checked the {7-Spades} turn and the {7-Clubs} river, and Gagliano turned up {q-Hearts}{6-Clubs}. Andrew couldn't beat a six and mucked.

Werthmann Peels Aces and Doubles

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Thom Werthmann jammed for 82,000 from the hijack and Ryan Riess called on his left. All other players folded and the cards were turned up upon completion of the hands on the other tables.

Werthmann: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}
Riess: {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}

Werthmann peeled the goods and Riess wasn't able to crack the blades this time as the board of {7-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{4-Spades}{k-Hearts}{7-Hearts} locked the double for Werthmann.

Zhang vs. Yoon

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Brian Yoon raised to 13,000 from middle position and Haixia Zhang called from the button. The dealer fanned a flop of {a-Spades}{10-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and Yoon continued for 13,000. Zhang called.

The turn was the {6-Diamonds} and Yoon bet 45,000 this time. Zhang called and the {q-Clubs} hit the felt on the river. Yoon paused for a moment and then opted to check. Zhang checked back and Yoon tabled {q-}{j-} for a pair of queens. Zhang revealed {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs} for a pair of aces and raked in the pot.

Play is still hand-for-hand.

Gagliano Clips Yoon with Nut Straight

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Michael Gagliano and Brian Yoon tangled in a pot which saw Gagliano check under the gun on a flop reading {j-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{3-Spades}. Yoon bet 20,000 from the cutoff and Gagliano called.

Both checked the {k-Diamonds} turn and the river came {10-Clubs}. Gagliano checked and Yoon bet 60,000. Gagliano paused, then check-raised to 190,000. Yoon spent a couple of minutes in tank and then threw in the chips.

Gagliano, however, tabled the {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades} for nothing less than the nuts, and Yoon mucked.

Riess Cracks Aces on the Bubble to Double

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Upeshka De Silva opened to 12,000 from under the gun and Bob Slezak three-bet to 30,000 from late position. Ryan Riess was on the button and four-bet to 160,000, leaving himself 3,000 behind. De Silva quickly folded, and Slezak tossed in a single chip to call, tabling {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}. Riess still had 3,000 behind so he held off from revealing his hand.

The dealer put out a flop of {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{2-Spades} and Riess got his last 3,000 in chips all in. Slezak called, and the floor asked the dealer to hold off until the remaining tables completed their action. Eventually, Riess tabled his {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds} for top set, and the turn and river ran out {7-Clubs} and {4-Spades} to send Riess the double.

Hand-for-hand play is still in progress, taking off two minutes per hand off the clock.

The turn was the {q-Hearts} and both players checked.

Papazian bet 30,000 on the {5-Clubs} river and Bohlman called, saying, "That's a good size."

Papazian mucked his hand. "Good size... for you?" he laughed.
