Cada Already Amongst Chip Leaders

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante
Joe Cada
Joe Cada

Four-time bracelet winner and 2009 Main Event champion Joe Cada has sat down in the Brasilia Room with a 77,000-chip stack. He's keeping it low key at his table, but he did just collaborate with a player from the adjacent table on a food order that looks like it just arrived.

Is Cada on the way to bracelet No. 5 in the $600 No-Limit Deepstack? It's too early to tell, but he's off to a good start as Level 5 begins.

Chip Counts from the Amazon Room at a Glance

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

Two-time WSOP bracelet winner Vitaly Lunkin is in the field, sitting on 30,000 chips. Lunkin looked on at his table for a hand that involved Phillip Phan dragging a pot in a flush-over flush situation.

Phan put in a 4000-chip river bet against two opponents on a board of {6-Spades}{a-Hearts}{2-Spades}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades}, and got one call from the player on the button. Both players showed a spade flush, but it was Phan's {k-Spades}{10-Spades} getting the best of it against the button's {q-Spades}{9-Spades}. Phan is now back up over the starting stack amount for the day, with 32,000 chips.

A couple of big stacks have been spotted elsewhere in the Amazon Room, including James Stilloe (77,000) and Robert O'Connell (85,000).

Zwolinski Check Shoves All-In

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

On a flop of {a-Clubs}{5-Spades}{10-Spades} Ashly Zwolinski checked to the big blind who shoved all in for 20,000 and two players behind folded to Zwolinski who check-shoved for her remaining stack putting her at risk for her tournament life.

Ashly Zwolinski: {a-Hearts}{5-Clubs}
Opponent: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

The turn and river came {5-Clubs}{6-Spades} only improving Zwolinski's hand and she dragged in a big pot to put her in good shape heading to the first break of the day.

Hawkins Drops a Small Pot

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante
Maurice Hawkins
Maurice Hawkins

Maurice Hawkins' starting stack has dwindled in the opening levels of Day 1 and the 13-time WSOP Circuit ring winner is down to 25,000 after losing a small pot.

An early position player opened for 500 and received calls from Hawkins in the hijack, and the player in the cutoff. The flop came {j-Clubs}{q-Spades}{9-Diamonds}, and the action checked to Hawkins, who put in a 1,000 bet. The cutoff called and the turn came the {4-Clubs}.

Hawkins checked, the cutoff bet 1,500, and Hawkins called, bringing the {3-Spades} river. The action checked through, the cutoff showed {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}, and Hawkins mucked.

Daprato gets it All-in with the Best of it

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

The board read {6-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{a-Spades} and there was already 8,000 in the middle. Larry Daprato was sat in middle position and moved all in for his remaining 20,000. The cutoff quickly called.

Larry Daprato: {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}
Opponent: {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

The {5-Diamonds} turn and {j-Diamonds} river was no help to his opponent and Daprato is very much alive in this one.

Davies Eliminates a Player a Cripples Another

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

In the cutoff Hector Davies raised to 1,800 and the button moved all in for his remaining 7,200. The big blind tanked briefly before making the call as well putting Davies at risk too.

Hector Davies: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}
Opponent: {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}
Opponent: {5-Hearts}{6-Hearts}

The board ran {7-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{2-Clubs} and with that Davies eliminates a player and leaving another player crippled with only a few big blinds.
