Hammett Wins a Flip

Level 9 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Scott Hammett three-bet shoved for 24,100 from the big blind after an open from a player in middle position, and the middle position player called.

Scott Hammett: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Opponent: {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

Hammett gave a nod to the {4-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} flop, and he avoided disaster on the {3-Diamonds} turn and {6-Clubs} river to double.

Davison Busts One

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

The cards were all but rushed away and Paul Davison claimed the pot, having sent an opponent to the rail in dramatic fashion. Davison had flopped top set with {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} while the player at risk had {a-}{k-} for the nut straight. The {q-Hearts} followed on the turn and that gave Davison quads to lock up the hand.

Small Pot for Cardoso

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Having defended against a raise by Josh Arieh, Nabil Cardoso checked the {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} flop and they checked the {3-Hearts} on the turn. Cardoso bet the {7-Diamonds} river and Arieh sent his cards into the muck.

Arieh had previously recovered earlier losses while Joao Vieira dropped below the starting stack on the same table.

Cheung Trips Dowling, Sends Him Packing

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Robert Cheung
Robert Cheung

There was three-way action headed to the flop and Robert Cheung fired out 4,200 after the flop fell {j-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{q-Spades} and his opponent from early position called. Action was on Robert Dowling who jammed for 67,000 and was called by Cheung.

Robert Dowling: {q-Hearts}{9-Spades}
Robert Cheung: {3-Clubs}{3-Spades}

Cheung had flopped a set of threes and left Dowling drawing dead after the {a-Clubs} turn.

The {a-Spades} fell on the river giving Cheung a full house as he eliminated Dowling from the tournament.

Liberta Scoops a Massive Pot, Sends One to the Rail

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Joseph Liberta was in the middle of scooping a massive pot when we arrived at the table. The board read {k-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{8-Hearts} and both players had their cards laid out in front of them.

It appeared Liberta's opponent attempted to run a huge bluff after turning the world with {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs} in front of him. However, Liberta was not to be out-done when he rivered a full house with {a-Spades}{k-Spades}. Liberta stacked up his chips and now has nearly 300,000 heading to dinner break.
