Larabi Hooked by Almannai

Level 6 : 400/800, 800 ante

Bernard Larabi shoved all in for his last 19,300 from middle position and received a call from Hamad Almannai, who was on the button. The blinds folded and it was time for the players to turn up their hands and run the cards.

Bernard Larabi: {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}
Hamad Almannai: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

The board came out {4-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{7-Clubs}.

After the turn came, Larabi began to get up and gather his belongings. By the time the river hit, a tablemate was praising him for a 'good game'. He thanked the table kindly and said goodbye to them as he left the tournament area.

Berstein's Aggression Earns a Pot

Level 6 : 400/800, 800 ante

A player raised to 2,500 from under the gun, and was called by Samuel Bernstein in middle position, as well as Adam Murphy in the small blind.

Murphy checked the {3-Hearts}{a-Spades}{a-Hearts} flop to the under-the-gun player, who bet 2,500. Bernstein raised to 6,500, and after Murphy folded, the under-the-gun player called.

The {5-Clubs} turn was checked to Bernstein, who bet 11,000. His remaining opponent quickly folded.

Ashby Eliminates Lim

Level 6 : 400/800, 800 ante

With around 30,000 already in the pot and board showing {2-Hearts}{6-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} Yohwan Lim was faced with an all in bet from his opponent David Len Ashby who was seated from the small blind. After a minute or so of contemplation Lim called and the players tabled their hands.

Yohwan Lim: {j-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
David Len Ashby: {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}

Lim rivered top two-pair but that was second best to Ashby's flopped set and Lim exited the playing field.

Kornblau Shows Two, Dogan Shows One

Level 6 : 400/800, 800 ante

There was already a pot of 40,000 built up and an {a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{j-Hearts} board on the felt, when Deniz Dogan from the cutoff declared, "All in," to put Alan Kornblau in the small blind to the test for his last 30,000. Kornblau tanked for a few minutes before flinging his {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} up on the felt and saying, "I fold."

Dogan looked back at his hand, then turned up the {k-Spades} as he mucked, prompting Kornblau to say, "Queen of hearts," as Dogan raked in the pot.

Late Entry Givens Off to a Good Start

Will Givens earlier in the summer
Will Givens earlier in the summer

Chris Klodnicki started it all with a raise to 2,000 and he was three-bet by Will Givens to 6,000. Klodnicki called the raise to see the first three cards.

The flop was dealt {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{3-Spades} and Klodnicki check-folded to another bet of 6,000 by Givens.

Givens finished as runner up in Event #59: $600 No-Limit Hold'em Deepstack Championship and missed out on his second bracelet but he still has a chance to make it happen this year.

Liang Flipped from the Main Event

Level 6 : 400/800, 800 ante

Than Huynh opened to 1,800 and Patrick Liang three-bet all in from the button for 21,800. Eric Blair was in the big blind and cold-called, with Huynh folding.

Eric Blair: {j-Hearts}{j-Spades}
Patrick Liang: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}

Liang would need to hit to overcome the pocket jacks of Blair, but the {3-Spades}{9-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{9-Spades} board was devoid of aces or kings and he was eliminated.

Hansen in the Field

Level 6 : 400/800, 800 ante
Gus Hansen
Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen was allegedly a late entrant for Day 2C but was not in his seat when the cards were first in the air. He has, however, now arrived and has already seen his stack increase slightly. Hansen is another familiar name and likely will be one to pay attention to among an Amazon Orange section full of big names including three final tablists from the recent $50,000 Poker Players Championship, John Esposito, Bryce Yockey, and Josh Arieh as well as 2018 WSOP Main Event champion John Cynn.
