Guan Powers Out Sammartino

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Ricky Guan
Ricky Guan

The board read {6-Spades}{3-Clubs}{a-Clubs} and Ricky Guan bet 13,000 from the button after it was checked to him. Dario Sammartino check-raised to 40,000.

Guan assessed Sammartino as the Italian stared him down. After about twenty seconds Guan three-bet to 120,000 and Sammartino folded fairly quickly.

Foxen Building Up

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Alex Foxen
Alex Foxen

The flop read {8-Hearts}{a-Spades}{q-Clubs} and Alex Foxen checked from under the gun. Jeff Dumas bet 50,000 from middle position which Foxen called. The turn was the {j-Clubs} and both players checked. The river was the {7-Diamonds}. Foxen led out with a bet of 53,000. Dumas considered it for a while before laying it down.

"I finally have some chips" said Foxen as he pulled in the modest pot. "You are probably top five in physical chips" joked another player at the table referring to the pyramid of yellow 1,000 chips residing in Foxen's stack.

Linde's Kings No Good

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Dylan Linde
Dylan Linde

Dylan Linde was seen at the payout desk and was kind enough to relay what had happened:

Linde had around 200,000 left. The player in the cutoff opened to 17,000 and Linde three-bet to 50,000 on the button with {k-}{k-} which his opponent called.

The flop came {q-}{j-}{9-} with two hearts. Linde's opponent check-shoved when Linde continued with a bet of 50,000 and he called. His opponent held {k-}{q-Clubs}.

The turn was another {q-} and the river an {a-} to not bring any help to Linde as he was eliminated in 968th place.

Some of the other players spotted at the payout desk include Faraz Jaka, [Removed:172], Eric Wasylenko, and Tim Reilly.

Double Elimination for Sabe

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

All of the chips went in the middle before the flop, the player in middle position was at risk for about 170,000 chips, Chris Determeyer was at risk for 230,000 and Joseph Sabe had them both covered.

Joseph Sabe: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
Middle Position: {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
Chris Determeyer: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}

Sabe was in fantastic shape as both opponents were drawing to a flush or straight only to win the hand and the board ran out {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} giving Sabe two pairs aces and kings to eliminate both players.

Koren Cracks Forca's Aces, Off To a Hot Start

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Artur Koren was seen shrugging his shoulders to Michael Forca on his right as the dealer called for a payout while Koren collected the rest of Forca's chips.

Forca's {a-Hearts}{a-Spades} was no good to Koren's {10-Clubs}{10-Spades} on the displayed board of {10-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{7-Spades} and Koren added to his stack. After entering the day with 1.28 million, Koren has increased his stack some 30-plus percent in the first 100 minutes of play on Day 4.

Miranda Can't Hold With Kings

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Sarah Herzali
Sarah Herzali

Dong Guo from early position and Sarah Herzali in the cutoff were in action and both called the shove of Fabio Miranda in the small blind to see a flop of {a-Clubs}{8-Spades}{2-Spades}, which went check, check. After the {10-Hearts} turn, Guo checked and called a bet of 80,000 by Herzali before the {4-Diamonds} river completed the board.

Guo checked with around 210,000 behind and Herzali moved all in to force a fold from Guo.

Miranda tabled his {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} and Herzali had the winning hand in {10-Clubs}{10-Spades} for a turned set of tens to send Miranda to the rail.

Katz Set to Double-Dip Main Event and $50,000 Final Fifty

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Cary Katz
Cary Katz

Cary Katz came into Day 4 of the Main Event with just 40,000 at 3,000/6,000, good enough for just over six big blinds. However, he's managed to spin that up to over 500,000 before the end of the first level.

There's a catch though. Last night, Katz also managed to bag 310,000 in the $50,000 Final Fifty, and 44 players will return for Day 2 in that event at 4 p.m.

No doubt we will see echoes of Shaun Deeb and other players who have run between events if Katz continues his good run at the WSOP today.
