Auzoux Snap-Calls a River Bet

Level 24 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

A player in the big blind bet 325,000 into 500,000 on {7-Spades}{3-Hearts}{8-Spades}{6-Spades} and Gregoire Auzoux called a couple of seats on his left. On the {4-Diamonds} river, the big blind slid in what looked like 875,000, but Auzoux didn't much care about the size of it as he flicked in a calling chip before the bet was even released.

The big blind showed {5-Spades}{2-Spades} for a flush but Auzoux had a bigger one with {k-Spades}{q-Spades}.

Kapernaros Wins Four-Bet Pot Against Gates

Level 24 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Garry Gates opened to 110,000 and Christopher Wynkoop called from one seat over in the hijack. Michael Kapernaros then three-bet to 310,000 on the button and Gates responded with a four-bet to 875,000, which resulted in a fold from Wynkoop and a call by Kapernaros.

On the {7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{5-Spades} flop, Gates continued for 600,000 to receive a call by Kapernaros. No further betting action took place on the {9-Spades} turn and the {k-Spades} and Gates turned over {a-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for a pair of fives. Kapernaros had that beat with the {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} and dragged in a very healthy pot.

The 888poker Qualifiers Strike Twice

Level 24 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Mihai Manole
Mihai Manole

On the secondary feature table, Jordan Knackstedt raised to 100,000 and Mihai Manole on the button three-bet to 300,000. Knackstedt four-bet jammed for 1,575,000 and Manole quickly called.

Jordan Knackstedt: {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}
Mihai Manole: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

The board came {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{10-Hearts} and the queens held up to send Knackstedt to the rail.

The third feature table also saw another 888poker qualifier in action as Sam Greenwood took on Giovanni Petroni in a preflop all in.

Giovanni Petroni: {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}
Sam Greenwood: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}

The kicker played on the {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{9-Spades}{8-Hearts} board and Petroni followed Knackstedt to the rail.

Quadzilla for Burbick

Level 24 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Sejin Park checked from the big blind on {a-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{6-Spades} and Corey Burbick bet 200,000 from early position. Park called and then checked the {4-Hearts} river. Burbick bet 600,000 and Park tanked a bit and paid it off, mucking to {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} for quads.

One Rejoices, the Other in Dismay

Level 24 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Christopher Sly opened to 120,000 from under the gun and Ivonir Bento shipped all in for 1,065,000 in middle position. The action folded back to Sly who instantly called to put Bento at risk.

Ivonir Bento: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Christopher Sly: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

The players were out of their seats to watch the unfoldings and the dealer spread the flop of {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{4-Clubs}. Bento picked up a flush draw but the {2-Diamonds} on the turn would be of no help. The dealer burned and turned the {8-Clubs} on the river for Bento to complete his flush.

"Yes!" Bento exclaimed and he continued cheering in a foreign language. On the other hand, Sly slammed his fist down on to the table in disappointment as he fell below the 1 million chip mark.

Top Pair Good for Navarro

Level 24 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Alex Livingston had three-bet from the small blind to 400,000 over a middle-position open from Mario Navarro. Navarro made the call and the two saw a flop of {9-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}. Livingston continued with a bet of 275,000 and Navarro made the call. Both players checked the turn {5-Spades} and river {7-Spades} to take the hand to showdown.

Livingston tabled {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds} for ace-high and a missed Broadway draw. Navarro then showed {k-Spades}{q-Spades} for a pair of kings and took down the pot.

Cloutier Forces Out Gonzalez

Level 24 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Fabrizio Gonzalez
Fabrizio Gonzalez

First to act over on the secondary feature table, Fabrizio "SixthSense19" Gonzalez raised to 125,000 and Eric Cloutier came along from the button to see a flop of {q-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}. Gonzalez opted to check and Cloutier checked behind to the {q-Hearts} turn. Gonzalez check-called a bet of 225,000 and checked again the {10-Clubs} on the river.

Cloutier made it 425,000 to go and that eventually won the pot without showdown, as Gonzalez folded and dropped to 20 big blinds.

In the meanwhile, 888poker qualifier Mihai Manole has chipped up again and has 47 big blinds to his name.

Hunichen Eliminates Start of Day Chip Leader Morrone

Level 24 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Dean Morrone
Dean Morrone

Dean Morrone three-bet to 325,000 after a raise by Chris Hunichen. With action back on him, Hunichen four-bet. Morrone thought for a few moments and announced all in. Hunichen raised his eyebrows and put a stack in the middle to indicate a call.

Hunichen turned over his cards first the {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} and Morrone showed the {a-Spades}{9-Diamonds}. The flop had an ace but came with bad news for Morrone as the dealer spread {a-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{k-Hearts}. The turn was the {5-Hearts} and the river came the {8-Clubs} to officially end Morrone's tournament on day 5 after having started the day as chip leader.
