A Few Updated Chip Counts

Level 24 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Duthweiler Doubles Through Shaw

Level 24 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

We didn't see preflop action, but it all went in between Tobias Duthweiler in the cutoff and Carl Shaw in middle position. The former held {a-Hearts}{k-Spades} and dominated the latter's {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}, and a {j-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{9-Spades}{5-Spades} board changed nothing.

"Nice hand, mate," Shaw said with a sigh, sending over 1,860,000.

He added that it was tough for him to fold given the absent big blind.

Jonathan Cohen

Another battle of the premium pairs took place over on the third feature table and it was Jonathan Cohen that ended up at risk for 2,515,000 in the hijack. Alex Foxen looked him up and the following cards were turned over.

Jonathan Cohen: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
Alex Foxen: {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

The board came {10-Clubs}{7-Spades}{3-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{9-Clubs} and Cohen remained ahead with his pair of kings.

Romaine Forces River Tank-Clock-Fold For Second Time Today

Level 24 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

William Romaine had a bet out of 1.1 million from under the gun on the river with a board of {5-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{8-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}, effectively putting his opponent from the big blind, Dmitry Yurasov all in for his last 840,000 or so. Yurasov went into the tank, studying Romaine, who was on his direct left, with great intent. After over four minutes, somebody at the table called the clock on him.

The floorman came over and informed Yurasov of the rules and started the timer. Thirty seconds later, time was expiring and Yurasov mucked his hand, marking the second time Romaine has won a big pot on the river by way of his opponent making a big fold as time expired and he now sits with a stack of over five million chips in front of him.

Stewart Picks off Beasy

Level 24 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

On a board that read {8-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades} Joseph Beasy bet 400,000 and was quickly called by Casey Stewart.

Beasy rolled over {k-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for king high while Stewart showed {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs} for the winning hand.

Potential Huge Pot Results in Ladny Exiting the Tournament

Level 24 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Four players went to a flop of {k-Spades}{10-Hearts}{7-Spades} and a flurry of action broke out. Hiroki Nawa checked from the big blind and David Guay checked in early position. Sergei Petrushevskii tossed in a bet of 160,000 in middle position only to have Jacek Ladny raise to 425,000 in the cutoff.

Nawa check-raised to 900,000 which left Guay in the tank for two minutes. He eventually folded as did Petrushevskii after some thought as well. Ladny stuck in the last of his 1,000,000 and Nawa quickly called.

Hiroki Nawa: {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
Jacek Ladny: {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}

Both players flopped a set in what was a cooler flop. The {q-Diamonds} on the turn and the {j-Spades} on the river didn't change the situation and Ladny was eliminated. Guay mentioned after the hand that he folded {q-Spades}{10-Spades} and would have scooped everything.

Sammartino Doubles Through Lech

Level 24 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Dario Sammartino
Dario Sammartino

Over on the main feature table, the action escalated between Michael Lech and Dario Sammartino. Lech made it 100,000 to go first to act and Sammartino three-bet to 260,000 on the button. Lech four-bet all in and Sammartino snap-called for 1,165,000 in total.

Dario Sammartino: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}
Michael Lech: {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

The {j-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{3-Hearts} flop changed nothing and Lech was falling further behind with the inferior flush draw. Sammartino had the check mark on the {6-Hearts} turn and the {5-Spades} river was a formality.

Rudelitz Welcomes Thibodeau With a Set

Level 24 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

With the two open seats available on the third feature table, two new players arrived in Giovanni Petroni and Jacob Thibodeau. The latter defended out of the big blind against Enrico Rudelitz and check-called a bet of 80,000 on the {10-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop. On the {8-Clubs} turn both checked and Thibodeau check-called a bet of 350,000 on the {5-Diamonds} river.

Rudelitz rolled over {5-Clubs}{5-Spades} for a set of fives and that won the pot.

Hashem Folds to River Barrel from Jones

Level 24 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

John Hashem opened in middle position and called a three-bet from Atlee Jones in the cutoff. Hashem then check-called 390,000 on the {8-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop, bringing a {9-Spades} that checked through. The river was a {k-Diamonds} and Hashem checked and faced a bet of 675,000. He mucked, muttering that he should have bet the turn.

Steury Happy to Chop

Level 24 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Aaron Steury got his stack of around 600,000 in preflop with {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} but needed to improve against the {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} of Michael Pearson in the cutoff. The {4-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} left Steury down to his final card, but he found the {10-Diamonds} river to leave both playing the board.

"Chop it," he said cheerfully, pulling his chips back.
