Two Pair vs Two Pair

About halfway through level 400/200/40 action was picked up on the flop of {a-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{j-Spades} in a headsup pot between Richard "raiserrick1" Troendly and Kenneth "kdonarski" Donarski and 4,305 already in the pot.

Donarski, first to act, checked then called the 4,900 bet from Troendly. After both players checked the {4-Clubs} turn Donarski bet 4,900 on the {k-Clubs} river which was called by Troendly. Both players tabled their hands and Troendly scooped the pot with the better two pair.

Zinno Takes One From Liedtke

With blinds at 200/400/40, action folded to Anthony "heheh" Zinno and he raised it to 600. Mark "NostraDonkus" Liedtke then three-bet it to 3,113 from his big blind and Zinno made the call.

After Liedtke continued for 2,183 on the {8-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{9-Spades} flop, Zinno raised to 10,000 straight, which was enough to take down the pot.

National/Global Casino Championship History: Ryan Eriquezzo Wins for First Time

Ryan Eriquezzo
Ryan Eriquezzo

The following year, the National Championship moved over to the Rio and took place during the WSOP. That year, officials also expanded the field by offering the top 100 players in the WSOP World Rankings, a points race determined on results in open events from the two years previous, the chance to enter if they wanted to pony up the $10,000 buy-in.

That year the tournament drew 157 runners and saw Ryan Eriquezzo, who had qualified by winning the 2012 WSOP Circuit Caesars Atlantic City Main Event, come out on top to win his first bracelet and a $416,051 top prize.

Player Profile: Matt "RubberFist" Stout

Matt Stout

Method of Qualification: WSOP.com Online Super Circuit Series Casino Champion

If the name "JackBogle" is a common sight among the top finishers in the WSOP.com high-stakes tournaments, just as regularly spotted is "RubberFist." That one belongs to Stout, as long-standing a tournament presence as any dating back to his days as "all_in_at420," the nom de guerre under which he's racked up almost $4 million in cashes.

Already a two-time ring winner coming into this season, Stout absolutely killed it on the virtual felt in 2019-20.

First, he added a third ring to his collection, taking down Event #8: $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em High Roller 6-Max for $47,330 in a field of 177 in the fall series.

Then, he crushed it even harder in March. He shipped Event #2: $215 No-Limit Hold'em Monster Stack for $43,286. After a sixth-place finish in another $1K six-max event, Stout tasted victory again in Event #11: No-Limit Hold'em - BIG $500, banking $63,234. Along with three smaller cashes, that was enough to secure Casino Champion honors and make good on his pre-series prediction to his wife.

Stout continued churning out solid results with eight cashes during the domestic bracelet series, though none saw him run particularly deep.

He'll try to keep things rolling in the GCC, and a big cash would surely soothe the disappointment of being denied what he said was a highly anticipated trip to North Carolina, where the tournament was originally scheduled to run.

Kyle "iWant2Win" Marlborough Wins a Big One

With the levels still at 125/250/25, Mark "Nostradonkus" Liedtke raised to 750 for the under-the-gun position, Brett "Riverpig" Reichard then three-bet to 2,306 from the button, only to be met by a four-bet to 5,399 from Kyle "Iwant2win" Marlborough from the big blind.

After Liedtke folded, Reichard made the call and both players then checked to the river on a board of {2-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{2-Spades}{q-Diamonds} where Marlborough led out for 5,780.

Reichard raised to 11,560, Marlborough quickly four-bet to 11,560, and that sent Reichard into the tank, where most of the timebank was used before his cards were sent to the muck, which sent to huge pot to Marlborough.
