Day 1c of the GGPoker $10,000 World Series Of Poker Main Event Kicks off at 6PM GMT

WSOP GGPoker Main Event
WSOP GGPoker Main Event

One hour from now at 6 p.m. GMT (1 p.m. EST), the third and final starting day of the international 2020 GGPoker $10,000 World Series Of Poker Main Event will get underway and this provides the final chance for poker enthusiasts from all over the world outside of the two eligible US States to join the action. Day 1a saw 246 entries of which 62 players advanced and yesterday's second flight attracted 171 entries with another 42 contenders advancing.

All those that have already busted won't have another chance at glory as the event is played in Freezeout format with a single bullet available. The online/live poker hybrid is scheduled to crown the 2020 World Champion at the end of the year and the first step at that target is surviving the scheduled 16 levels on Day 1c. All those that make it through will then combine with the survivors of the other two starting days and play down to a nine-handed final table, which is slated to take place at the King's Resort in the Czech Republic.

Whoever then comes out on top of the live portion at the King's Resort will earn a spot in the winner-takes-all $1 million heads-up battle at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino Las Vegas on December 30th to battle against the winner of the WSOP.com edition of this $10,000 tournament. Whoever wins that one-on-one battle will be crowned the 2020 World Champion and receive an additional $1 million prize on top, sponsored by the WSOP and GGPoker.

All participants on Day 1c will receive a starting stack of 60,000, which represents 300 big blinds for the first level at blinds of 100-200. The level duration for the entire online portion is set to 30 minutes each and the late registration remains available for the first six hours, which concludes near the end of level 11. A total of 16 levels are scheduled for today and all those that bag and tag their virtual chips will then return the following day at the same starting time to pursue their mission for glory.

One player to get the chance to play entirely free of charge is Canada's Collin "generic" Capone, who won his seat in the PokerNews Bluff Competition.

More than 50 players are already registered for Day 1c including Pete Chen, Kitty Kuo, GGPoker ambassador Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, and the GGSquad streamers Patrick "Egption" Tardif and Michiel "Easterdamnz" Van Elsacker.

Stay tuned to find out who will make the headlines today as the PokerNews live reporting team will provide all the action from start to finish.
