Heller Flops the Nuts to Bust Digiorgio

Level 21 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

The cards were already on their backs as Carl Digiorgio was the player at risk against table big stack Frederic Heller.

Carl Digiorgio: {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}
Frederic Heller: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}

On a flop of {k-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{10-Spades}, Heller nailed the broadway straight and Digiorgio asked for a king. His wish was not granted on the {9-Spades} turn and {a-Spades} river, sending Digiorgio to the rail in 38th place.

Grospellier Left Steaming After Dropping Pot to Andrade

Level 21 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Bertrand Grospellier
Bertrand Grospellier

Gabriel Andrade put Bertrand Grospellier to the test with a 140,000 bet on the river with the board showing {3-Spades}{9-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}. Grospellier made the call but mucked when Andrade showed {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts} for the rivered pair.

Grospellier was left shaking his head in disbelief and a stack of around 150,000 after losing that pot. Andrade is up to 800,000.

Foutty Felted by Wong

Level 20 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

The cards were already on their backs as Steve Foutty was the player at risk for what appeared to be 400,000 out of the small blind. He was snap-called for a very specific reason by Jerry Wong as the initial raiser.

Steve Foutty: {q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}
Jerry Wong: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}

Nothing changed on the {k-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{3-Spades} flop but Foutty picked up some outs on the {10-Diamonds} turn. The {j-Spades} fell on the river and that was too little too late for Foutty.

Shortly after, Carlos Chadha vanished from the very same table.

Moraes Flips Well Against Digiorgio

Level 20 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Carl Digiorgio opened to 50,000 from under the gun and Paul Moraes then jammed for 380,000 on the small blind. The initial raiser asked for a count and called after a few seconds of consideration.

Paul Moraes: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Carl Digiorgio: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}

The pocket pair remained in the lead thanks to a board of {j-Hearts}{5-Spades}{3-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} as Moraes doubled. Apparently he had been very short not long ago as another player remarked "you gotta win the tournament now, it is your obligation."

Harder Leaves Mowad With Crumbs

Level 20 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Christian Harder
Christian Harder

Christian Harder raised pre-flop from the cutoff and got a call from Anthony Mowad in the big blind. Harder continued for 25,000 on a flop of {q-Spades}{10-Hearts}{6-Clubs} after Mowad checked, and Mowad called.

Harder bet again on the {a-Spades} turn, this time for 70,000. Mowad called to see the {6-Hearts} fall on the river. He checked to Harder a third time, and Harder bet 140,000.

Mowad eventually called after several minutes, but mucked when Harder turned over {k-Clubs}{j-Spades} for the nut straight. Harder is up to 630,000, while Mowad was left with just around 100,000 after losing that pot.

On the same table, Maria Konnikova is now the last woman remaining following the elimination of J.J. Liu and sits with 400,000. Former November Niner Jerry Wong has around 1,000,000.

Liu Eliminated by Heinzl

Level 20 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
JJ Liu
JJ Liu

Three ways to the {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop, Andrew Jeong in the small blind and Joshua Heinzl in the big blind checked. JJ Liu made it 50,000 to go and Jeong called. Heinzl then pushed all-in and that sent Liu into the tank. After more than two minutes she asked for a count on Heinzl's shove, which was deemed to be for 885,000 total.

Liu had a stack of approximately 700,000 herself and called all-in, Jeong folded.

JJ Liu: {j-Spades}{10-Spades}
Joshua Heinzl: {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

Heinzl was in the lead with the top two pair and that didn't change on the {a-Clubs} turn nor the {7-Hearts} river.
