Zhu Eliminated by Kornuth

Level 9 : 0/0, 1,200 ante
Yueqi Zhu
Yueqi Zhu

Chance Kornuth, Rene van Krevelen and Shaun Deeb all limped. Yueqi Zhu then pushed for what appeared to be 95,000 and Kornuth was the only caller.

Yueqi Zhu: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Chance Kornuth: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}

On a board of {j-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{6-Spades}{j-Clubs}{7-Hearts}, Zhu stood no chance with his ace-king and was drawing dead on the turn to quickly depart the tournament area.

Level 9 : 0/0, 1,200 ante
Shota Nakanishi
Shota Nakanishi

Shota Nakanishi moved all-in for the last 32,800 and the action folded to Chad Campbell on the button. He gave it some consideration, nodded and then announced the call.

Shota Nakanishi: {k-Spades}{10-Spades}
Chad Campbell: {j-Clubs}{7-Clubs}

The board ran out {a-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{8-Spades}{7-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and Campbell paired his seven, then dodged the straight and flush draw to eliminate Nakanishi.

"That's a really bad hand," newly arrived Jason Koon said when pointing to the cards of Campbell.

Imsirovic and Davies Dusted

Level 9 : 0/0, 1,200 ante
Ali Imsirovic
Ali Imsirovic

A preflop raising war resulted in Ali Imsirovic getting his stack of approximately 200,000 all in against Ye Shen.

Ali Imsirovic: {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}
Ye Shen: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

Shen had the better kicker and that's what made the difference after the board ran out {7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}.

Meanwhile, Seth Davies was eliminated one table over at the hands of Mr. Adam Owen.

Daniel Negreanu

Daniel Negreanu started recording for his vlog as he was all-in before the flop against Adam Owen.

"So we have ace queen and they have ace-jack," Negreanu announced with his {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} exposed. Owen was trailing with {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} but got there on the {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{7-Clubs}{j-Clubs} board.

"And I am out, fuck me," Negreanu concluded with a smile on the face before heading out of the tournament area.

Sinn and Yu on the Rail

Level 9 : 0/0, 1,200 ante

Charles Sinn lost his stack in a preflop contest when {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} was dominated by the {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts} of Adam Owen.

Ben Yu then moved all-in over the top of a shove by Yueqi Zhu to create the following showdown.

Yueqi Zhu: {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Ben Yu: {q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

The kicker played on a board of {j-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{a-Spades} to leave Yu short, who was then at risk shortly after for around 16,000.

Ben Yu: {a-Clubs}{6-Clubs}
Rene van Krevelen: {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

Board: {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

Van Krevelen paired his kicker and Yu failed to make a miracle straight to bow out next.

The Floodgates Are Opening

Level 9 : 0/0, 1,200 ante

Brian Rast was the first to bust and Ali Imsirovic then doubled through Chad Campbell in a preflop contest. Imsirovic was at risk for 65,800 with {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs} versus {a-Spades}{9-Spades} and the board ran out {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for Imsirovic to double.

David Peters then open-shoved for 45,600 from under the gun and was called by Thomas Kysar.

David Peters: {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Thomas Kysar: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

Only one queen was not enough on the {q-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} board to send Peters to the rail.

Venkat Chivukula then followed after he shipped it in preflop with the {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}. Imsirovic isolated from one seat over with the {q-Spades}{j-Spades} and prevailed thanks to a board of {k-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}.

Chidwick Jams Up Stack

Level 9 : 0/0, 1,200 ante

Three ways to the {10-Spades}{7-Hearts}{6-Spades} flop, Jason Koon checked and Chris Brewer bet 18,000 which Stephen Chidwick and Koon called. The {6-Clubs} fell on the turn and it checked to Chidwick. He moved all-in and his two opponents folded.

Ko Chips Up Without Showdown

Level 9 : 0/0, 1,200 ante

Dustin Dirksen, Joao Vieira and Young Ko on the button invested 13,000 preflop. The flop brought {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} and it checked to Vieira, who bet 22,000. Ko opted for a raise to 60,000 and that shut down both of his opponents.

Kornuth Can't Help Himself

Level 9 : 0/0, 1,200 ante

On a three-way checked through flop of {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}, the {10-Diamonds} turn brought no action either. The {6-Hearts} fell on the river and Chance Kornuth bet 5,400. Only Seth Davies called and Kornuth tabled the {j-Clubs}{8-Clubs}, which Davies had beat with the {a-Hearts}{7-Spades}.

"I just can't help myself," Kornuth joked in table chat.
