Day 1 About to Start in Event #45: $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship

The 52nd annual World Series of Poker (WSOP) at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada continues today with Event #45: $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship. Day 1 of the four-day tournament commences at 3 p.m. Pacific Time and will play for ten 60-minute levels before breaking for the day.

Players will begin with a starting stack of 60,000 and blinds at 100/200 with a 200 ante paid by the big blind. In the pot-limit tournament, the ante will only count as part of the pot after the flop.

Day 2 of the eight-handed tournament will take place on Oct. 24 at 2 p.m. and play for 10 levels, while Day 3 will commence the following day at the same time and will play down to five players.

Day 4 will take place on Oct. 26 at an undetermined start time and play down to a winner, who will earn the lion's share of the prize pool and a golden bracelet.

Dash Dudley of Lansing, Michigan is the reigning champion of the Pot-Limit Omaha Championship after taking down the 2019 event for a cool $1,086,967 by defeating James Park during heads-up play.

A player in middle position raised to 1,200 and AP Garza three-bet to 4,200. The rest of the table got out of the way and the player in middle position called.

The flop was {k-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{5-Hearts} and Garza's opponent checked. Garza fired a bet of 4,000 and the player in middle position went into the tank for nearly a minute before tossing his hand in the muck.

Garza is chipping up early in Day 1. He is looking for his first WSOP gold bracelet after a career-high finish in this year's Mixed Omaha event.

Donabedian Calls Bleznick

Jared Bleznick raised to 1,100 from early position and Andrew Donabedian three-bet to 5,000 from the button. Bleznick was the lone caller.

The flop was {10-Clubs}{9-Spades}{5-Hearts} and both players checked.

The turn was {5-Diamonds} and both players checked again. The river was {k-Clubs}.

Bleznick fired 6,000 at the river and Donabedian called quickly. Bleznick turned over {a-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} for three fives, but Donabedian had {a-Spades}{k-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} to make a straight and take the pot.

Donabedian is looking for his second bracelet after taking down the $600 PLO Deepstack in 2019.

Ball turned over {q-Spades}{j-Hearts}{x-}{x-} for a straight, but his opponent turned over {7-Clubs}{7-Spades}{8-Hearts}{8-Spades} for sevens full of tens to take the pot and send Ball to the rail early in Day 1.

Both players checked the turn {4-Clubs} and the river {6-Hearts}.

Wolff turned over {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} to win the pot with a pair of aces and Hicks sent the losing hand into the muck.
