Dany Georges Bags Big in Day 1b of Event #52: $1,000 Seniors Championship

Day 1b of Event #52: $1,000 Seniors Championship has been played to its conclusion with Dany Georges standing tall as the the day's chip leader after accumulating 464,000 in chips through 11 levels of play. Co-leading (and overall chip leader) from Day 1a is George Bronstein, who managed to bag 585,000 in chips.

Day 1b attracted 2,972 entries, which eclipsed the 2,432 players from Day 1a. By the end of the day, just 622 remained of the initial 2,432. In total, Day 1a and 1b produced a 5,404-entry field and generated a $4,809,560 prize pool. Of those players, 811 will make the money, with a min-cash being worth $1,601.The eventual winner will take home $561,060 in addition to a World Series of Poker gold bracelet.

Some notables who managed to bag into Day 2 include defending champion Howard Mash (127,000), Allen Kessler (80,500), Dan Heimiller (88,500), two-time Super Seniors Event Champion James Moore (104,000) and Poker Hall of Famer Barry Greenstein (156,500).

Less fortunate were Victor Ramdin, Frank Kassela, Bill Klein, Ken Aldridge, Kenna James, and 2019 Main Event Champion Hossein Ensan – all of whom were unable to survive the day.

The remaining 1,108 players from Day 1a and 1b will convene tomorrow at 10 a.m. and play ten more hour-long levels, which will resume at level 12 (1,000/2,500 blinds with a 2,500 big blind ante). Players will receive 15-minute breaks after every two levels and a 90-minute dinner break after level 19 (approximately 7:00 p.m.)
