Kozusko Gets Shown a Better Hand

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

A player in early position limped in before Paul Kozusko raised to 2,600 from late position. His opponent called to see a flop of {2-Clubs}{2-Spades}{8-Diamonds}.

Both players checked to the {k-Clubs} turn. Kozusko bet 2,000, his opponent min-raised to 4,000, and Kozusko called. Both players checked the {7-Hearts} river.

"Tens", the early position player said.

"Tens I think are good," Kozusko said, conceding the pot but still sitting on a healthy stack.

Lucky Lady Spares Wolak

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Marsha Wolak
Marsha Wolak

A player in early position raised to 3,200 and was called by Marsha Wolak on the button and the player in the small blind.

The flop came {9-Hearts}{6-Spades}{4-Clubs} and it was checked to the original raiser, who continued for 3,200. Wolak raised to 9,000 and action folded back to the original bettor, who raised enough to put Wolak all in for her last 36,000.

Wolak tanked for some time before deciding to commit her chips with a call.

Marsha Wolak: {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}
Early-position player: {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}

It was a worst-case scenario for Wolak, who had run into top set.

The {7-Hearts} turn changed nothing; however, the {q-Spades} river sent the table into an uproar as it provided Wolak with a superior set — good for the double up.

"Oh my God, I need a beer now," Wolak said. "That's crazy."

In a four-way pot, the flop was {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and the small blind and big blind checked to the player in middle position who jammed his 15,500 into the middle. Steve Saklad was in the cutoff and called before the rest of the players folded.

Steve Saklad: {k-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

The {7-Hearts} hit the turn immediately and Saklad left his opponent drawing dead on the {q-Spades} river.

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Three players, including Joe Jackson from under the gun, saw the turn on a board of {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{4-Hearts}. The big blind went all in, Jackson was all in with a short-stack, and a player on the button called.

Joe Jackson: {4-Clubs}{4-Spades}
Big Blind: {q-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
Button: {k-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

The button and big blind had both flopped trip nines, but Jackson had outdrawn them with a full house on the turn. The river came the {10-Clubs} and Jackson secured the triple up, while the big blind was eliminated.

Two All Ins at the "Chocolate" Table

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante
Tom Vrana
Tom Vrana

Tom Vrana was already all in when Randall Shioi and Tony Wise built a side pot on a board of {7-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}. Shioi bet 6,000 from the button and Wise called from the big blind.

The river came the {7-Clubs} and Wise pushed all in for around 50,000. Shioi thought about it for a moment before folding. Wise confidently turned over {8-Spades}{7-Spades} for rivered trips to win the side pot, but Vrana had {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts} to triple up.

Shioi's box of chocolates that he shared with the table earlier is now empty and he walked over to throw it in the trash bin.
