Grafton Takes Pot Off Berkey, Gets Bird

Level 19 : 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Sam Grafton
Sam Grafton

Sam Grafton was out of position in a heads-up pot against Matt Berkey. Grafton checked on the flop of {4-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} and called when Berkey bet 25,000.

The {3-Diamonds} peeled off on the turn and Grafton took the betting lead from his opponent by leading out for 15,000. Berkey gave Grafton the middle finger with one hand and tossed his hand in the muck with the other.

"That offends my European sensibilities," reacted Grafton.

Bertrand Grospellier
Bertrand Grospellier

Sam Grafton opened on the button and Bertrand Grospellier three-bet shoved a stack of 90,000 from the small blind. Grafton called with his opponent covered.

Bertrand Grospellier: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}
Sam Grafton: {k-Spades}{9-Clubs}

Grospellier was ahead preflop but the flop of {6-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} put Grafton in front with a pair of nines. Grospellier didn't get any help from the runout of {7-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and was sent to the rail.

With about 200,000 in the pot on a {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{4-Spades} flop, Roland Rokita was in the cutoff and check-called an 85,000 bet from Nikita Kuznetsov on the button.

The {6-Hearts} came on the turn and Rokita check-called for 205,000.

The {2-Clubs} completed the board and Rokita check-folded after Kuznetsov jammed.

Francois Pirault
Francois Pirault

Francois Pirault moved all-in in late position with a stack of 65,000. The action folded to Pavel Plesuv in the big blind, who asked for a count before checking his cards. He let out a snicker as he looked at his hand and called.

Francois Pirault: {10-Diamonds}{7-Spades}
Pavel Plesuv: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}

Pirault needed help and ultimately got it as the board ran out {a-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} to give him a flush. Plesuv was not laughing after the runout.
