The Great Bubble Survival Story

Level 20 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

It seems like there's usually a great story about someone surviving the bubble under crazy circumstances, and the Mini Main Event is no different.

Just four places before the bubble burst, Dan Wagner was all in for his last 5,000 chips with {k-Clubs}{8-Clubs} versus Lloyd Fransenmeier's {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}. The {j-Spades}{6-Hearts}{6-Clubs} appeared on the flop and Wagner was in dire straits. A miraculous runout of the {4-Clubs} turn and the {9-Clubs} river came for Wagner to make a flush and survive.

But his peril wasn't done there.

Still, with just 40,000 chips, he was due to be all-in in the big blind on the next hand as play was paused to count the remaining players.

However, before his final few chips had to go in the middle again, the announcement was made that players were now in the money, and Wagner had survived.

Even better still, Wagner survived that all-in and has since quickly spun his stack up to 200,000.

Two Players Drawing Chop Pot

Level 21 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

With an already inflated pot as the action was caught on the {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{6-Spades} flop, the player on the button bet 25,000 and got check-raised to 75,000 by Victor Parades. The raise was called and both players saw the {7-Clubs} on the turn. Parades jammed, putting his opponent all-in for around 210,000.

Parades showed {k-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for an open-ended straight draw, and was destined to chop when his opponent showed the {k-Spades}{8-Spades}. The {3-Spades} river was meaningless and they chopped it up.

Jiejiezheng Wins Crazy Three-Way All-In Pot

Level 22 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

An under-the-gun player raised to 75,000 and another player to his left jammed for 475,000 with {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}. JJ Jiejiezheng, on the button, called his entire stack of 425,000 with {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} and then the small blind called for 180,000 with {k-}{2-}.

Action back on the original raiser who tanked for a few minutes before folding. He said he folded pocket jacks.

The board ran out {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} and Jiejiezheng won the massive pot.

Dana Kamp
Dana Kamp

There was three-way all in action preflop from the middle position player (525,000), Dannah Kamp from late position (775,000) and Georgios Sotiropoulos from the small blind who had the two other covered.

All In Player: {4-Spades}{4-Diamonds}
Dannah Kamp: {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}
Georgios Sotiropoulos: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}

Sotiropoulos was out in front with his pair of aces and the {3-Spades}{3-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} runout secured him the double elimination.
