Aces No Good for Sternberg

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 0 ante
Alan Sternberg
Alan Sternberg

There was a massive pot brewing between Ruslan Nazarenko from under the gun and defending champ Alan Sternberg from the small blind.

All of Sternberg's chips went into the middle after a {8-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} flop and Nazarenko called.

Alan Sternberg: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{2-Hearts}
Ruslan Nazarenko: {j-Spades}{9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{6-Spades}

Sternberg held a pair of aces but was out-flopped by Nazarenko holding two-pair.

Neither the {q-Clubs} turn nor the {4-Hearts} river changed a thing and Sternberg reentered the tournament shortly after.

Prociak Scoops with Straight

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 0 ante
David Prociak
David Prociak

There was heads-up action between David Prociak from the hijack and John Beauprez from the small blind with the {5-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} on the board after the turn.

Beauprez check-called the 12,000 bet from Prociak and the {8-Hearts} river was checked by both players.

Beauprez rolled over {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{4-Clubs} but it was no good as Prociak held {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} to win the pot with a queen-high straight.

Forman Flops Gold

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 0 ante

After three players saw a {7-Spades}{8-Spades}{8-Hearts} flop for 15,000 a pop, the player under the gun led out for 18,000 and only Steven Forman called from the cutoff.

The turn came the {a-Hearts} and Forman called a 12,000 bet to see the {4-Diamonds} complete the board on the river.

Action went check-check and Forman rolled over {j-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} to win the pot with eights full of sevens.

Schwartz Finds a Double

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 0 ante
Noah Schwartz
Noah Schwartz

There was three-way action with a {j-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{j-Spades}{6-Spades} board showing and roughly 30,000 in the middle.

The big blind check-folded after the hijack fired out 15,000 and Noah Schwartz jammed for just 500 more from the button.

His opponent called and the dropped the {2-Hearts} on the river. Schwartz rolled over {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} for kings full of jacks and it was good enough to keep his tournament alive.

Anthony Zinno raised from the cutoff and was called by John Beauprez from the small blind along with Michael Prendergast from the big blind.

The {6-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{6-Hearts} flop saw Beauprez lead out for 1,500 and only Zinno called to see the {k-Diamonds} fall on the turn.

Beauprez checked his option and quickly mucked after Zinno fired out 4,000.

Hudson's Full House is Better

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 0 ante
Michael Hudson
Michael Hudson

There was heads-up action between Michael Hudson from the button and Jacco Hester from the big blind.

The board read {9-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{4-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{k-Hearts} and Hester led out for 12,000 only to call the 45,000 raise from Hudson.

Hudson quickly showed {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} for kings full of queens and it was good as Hester mucked {k-Spades}{9-Clubs}{4-Spades}{x-}.
