O'Hara Goes For It, But Gets Left on Fumes by Vieira

Level 16
Ian O'Hara
Ian O'Hara

Badugi

Picking action up on the first betting round, Joao Vieira checked in the cutoff, then called a bet from Ian O'Hara on the button.

Vieira drew one card while O'Hara patted.

Vieira then checked to O'Hara again, but this time after O'Hara bet, Vieira responded with a check-raise.

O'Hara then put in a third bet, which Vieira called.

Vieira patted his hand, as did O'Hara.

Once more Vieira checked, and O'Hara bet a final time, and was called by Vieira.

Vieira showed {8-Clubs}{6-Spades}{3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}. O'Hara grinned and flashed four hearts nine or below for an audacious bluff then tossed them into the muck, leaving him with just 6,000 chips.

However, in a pair of recent Badugi hands, he's managed to double up twice, but is still on the shortest stack in the room.

Nacho Barbero Eliminated in 19th Place ($16,264)

Level 16
Nacho Barbero
Nacho Barbero

Pot-Limit Omaha

On a flop of {8-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}, Nacho Barbero checked in the cutoff in a three-bet pot. Jordan Siegel bet 55,000 on the button and Barbero then jammed for 130,000 total in order to pick up a reluctant call by Siegel.

Nacho Barbero: {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{4-Spades}
Jordan Siegel: {5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}

The {7-Hearts} turn and {k-Spades} river were not enough to keep Barbero in contention and he bowed out in 19th place for $16,264.

Kihara "Owns" Bellande

Level 16

Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo

Jean-Robert Bellande paid off a bet worth 46,000 on the {k-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{q-Spades} and was shown the {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} by Naoya Kihara. "You own me, buddy," Bellande said as he sipped on a glass of wine and exposed the {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}.

Bellande then also tangled with Brian Rast when the latter check-raised the pot for nearly the entire remaining stack on the {j-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{q-Clubs} turn. Bellande gave it some thought and folded the {a-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs} face-up.

Last but not least, Bellande bet for 35,000 on the {k-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{k-Clubs} turn against Kihara, who called, and they checked the {3-Hearts} river. Bellande flashed the {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} and Kihara chopped with the {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{5-Spades}.

Mike Gorodinsky: {x-}{x-}{2-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{9-Spades}{2-Hearts}/{x-}
Tuan Le: {x-}{x-}/{4-Spades}{j-Spades}{10-Hearts}{a-Hearts}/{x-}

On seventh street with bets from each street in front of each player, Mike Gorodinsky bet and was called by Tuan Le.

Gorodinsky showed {5-Spades}{2-Spades}{3-Hearts} in the hole for trip deuces.

Le showed {k-Spades}{q-Spades}{6-Clubs} for a broadway straight. With neither player holding a qualifying low, the pot was scooped by Le whose stack vaults up over 700,000.

Matusow Eliminated on the Money Bubble

Level 16
Mike Matusow
Mike Matusow

Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo

Mike Matusow: {a-Spades}{4-Spades} / {6-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{2-Clubs} / {9-Hearts}
Jordan Siegel: {a-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} / {3-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} / {k-Hearts}
Jeff Madsen: {6-Clubs}{5-Hearts} / {8-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} / {9-Spades}

After folding in the previous hand, Mike Matusow was all-in for the last 5,000 on third street and he earned calls from Jordan Siegel and Jeff Madsen. Without further ado, the two active players checked it all the way down. Matusow had a pair of aces until sixth and failed to improve, while Siegel's two pair, sevens and treys, ended up as the winning hand.

Matusow also bricked his low draw as well and became the bubble boy of the event.

Matusow on Fumes

Level 16

Badeucey

From his already short stack, Mike Matusow raised in the cutoff and was called by Jordan Siegel in the small blind and Jeff Madsen in the big blind.

Siegel drew two, Madsen drew three and Matusow drew one.

The players all checked and on the second draw they each drew the same amount of cards.

Siegel checked, Madsen bet and Matusow called, leaving himself just 7,000 behind. Siegel folded.

Madsen then stood pat and bet dark to put Matusow all in. Matusow went deep into the tank, then opted to simply muck his cards and save his final 7,000.

Bojang Busts; Madsen Survives

Level 16
Ismael Bojang
Ismael Bojang

At the same time on two different tables, there was an all-in and call.

Ismael Bojang jammed an {8-Spades}{6-Clubs} into the {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} of Ian O'Hara and failed to get there, hitting the rail in 21st place.

Moments later, the tournament was supposed to go into hand-for-hand mode but Mike Matusow was all-in against Jeff Madsen for his last 10,000.

Badeucey

Mike Matusow: {10-Spades} / {7-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}
Jeff Madsen: {5-Hearts}{3-Spades} / {7-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts}

Madsen paired his trey and didn't have a Badugi for Matusow to double-up on the bubble.

Hand-for-hand mode will now commence with two minutes taken off the clock for every hand played.
