Sarle Sends Su to the Rail

Level 20 : 20,000/40,000, 0 ante
Jason Su
Jason Su

Jason Su limped in from the small blind and Domnick Sarle checked his option from the big blind.

On the first draw, Su drew three and Sarle drew four. Su bet and Sarle called.

On the second draw, Su took one card and Sarle asked for two. Su committed the last of his chips, less than a full bet, and Sarle called.

Su drew one on the final draw and Sarle stood pat. Su had {8-}{7-}{5-}{2-} / {x-}, but Sarle tabled {8-}{5-}{4-}{3-}{2-} and Su tapped the table and made his way for the payout desk when he saw that he was drawing dead for his tournament life.

Epstein Wins One of 2-7, Loses One of A-5

Level 20 : 20,000/40,000, 0 ante

2-7 Triple Draw

Heads-up on the first draw, Galen Hall bet before Alex Epstein raised. Hall called and took one, while Epstein stood pat.

He bet again and Hall called. Epstein stood pat again, while Hall took one. Both players checked and Epstein won the pot with 9-6-5.

The game changed to A-5 Triple Draw the next hand, and this time Epstein would be up against Daniel Strelitz.

On the first draw, Strelitz took one and bet, while Epstein drew two and called. After taking two more on the second draw, Epstein gave up his cards when Strelitz bet again.

"There has to be non-face cards in this deck," Epstein said.

"I had them all," Strelitz replied.

Level 19 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

Badugi

Nicholas Marsico's comeback attempt just took a big blow after dropping a pot to Yehuda Buchalter.

Marsico raised from early position and Buchalter called from the button. Marsico stood pat and bet, then re-raised when Buchalter put in a raise.

Buchalter called and took one, while Marsico continued to stand pat and bet again. Buchalter called, then both players stood pat and checked.

"You win. King," Marsico said.

Buchalter turned over {5-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{6-Spades}{5-Diamonds} to take the pot.

"I know I got you to break it. You caught it anyway," Marsico added after the hand.

Hall Saved From Having a Heart Attack

Level 19 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante
Galen Hall
Galen Hall

A-5 Triple Draw

Galen Hall raised from under the gun and both Daniel Strelitz on the button and small blind Philip Eisman called.

"I predict this could be a big one," tablemate Frank Kassela said as he rose from his seat.

Hall bet after drawing one and Strelitz called. Eisman check-raised and both opponents called.

He stood pat while Hall took one and Strelitz two. Only Hall called a bet after the second draw as Eisman stood pat again.

Hall took one and Eisman checked. Hall took the opportunity to bet and Eisman snap-called, announcing "7-6 perfect."

"No good," the WSOP bracelet winner said, turning over 6-5-3-2-A to win the pot.

After the hand, Hall admitted he almost misread his hand and thought he had two deuces. "I almost had a heart attack. It wouldn't be the first time I did that today," he said, relieved that he got to stack the chips.

Leonard Loses Some More

Level 19 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

2-7 Triple Draw

After the second draw, Ralph Perry bet and Patrick Leonard called. Both players stood pat on the third draw and Leonard called another bet.

Perry had the nuts, showing {7-}{5-}{4-}{3-}{2-} to take the pot from the online star.

Leonard's downswing wasn't finished there, though. The next hand, he raised from the button and Perry and Alejandro Torres called in the blinds.

All three players drew three and Torres led out. Leonard called while Perry got out of the way.

Torres stood pat and bet the second draw. Leonard called after drawing one, then both players checked after the third draw.

Torres showed Leonard another winner, an 8-7 low as Leonard slammed his chips on top of the dealer button and slid them across to Torres.

Level 19 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

2-7 Triple Draw

Schuyler Thornton raised from the cutoff and Bariscan Betil three-bet from the button. The blinds got out of the way and Thornton four-bet. Betil called and both players drew one card.

Thornton check-called the first draw and took one card on the second before Betil stood pat.

Thornton check-called the second draw and both players stood pat on the third.

After the final draw, Thornton check-called one more bet and Betil turned over {7-}{6-}{4-}{3-}{2-} to take the pot with the second-best possible hand.
