Reixach Felted by Seidel

Level 12 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Sergi Reixach
Sergi Reixach

Sergi Reixach had just 130,000 behind and pushed it all in from middle position. Erik Seidel raised to 240,000 in the cutoff and the rest of the table got out of the way.

Sergi Reixach: {k-Spades}{3-Spades}
Erik Seidel: {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}

Reixach was behind but found a beautiful flop of {k-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} to vault well into the lead. The {5-Diamonds} had Seidel drawing live to a diamond that wasn't a king or a three, and that is exactly what the {9-Diamonds} river delivered to bust Reixach late on Day 1.

Ausmus and Bujtas Eliminated

Level 12 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Jeremy Ausmus moved all in from late position and Cary Katz moved in from the small blind for more. Bill Klein folded the big blind and Ausmus was at risk.

Jeremy Ausmus: {q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Cary Katz: {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}

The flop came {10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{5-Hearts}, giving Katz a set of eights, but Ausmus still had a gutshot straight draw.

It wouldn't come in though as the {3-Spades} turn and {10-Clubs} river ended his day.

Meanwhile, at an adjacent table, Laszlo Bujtas was all-in preflop against Erik Seidel.

Laszlo Bujtas: {a-}{j-}
Erik Seidel: {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

The board came {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}, bringing Seidel a nine on the river to send Bujtas to the rail as well.

Rheem Shoves and Sammartino Calls

Level 12 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

With the first day close to over, everyone folded around to Chino Rheem on the button, who pushed all in for 425,000. Dario Sammartino was the only player to call, and they both tabled their hands for a classic race.

Chino Rheem {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Dario Sammartino {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}

The flop came {k-Spades}{3-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}, and Rheem began to stand up at a {10-Clubs} dropped on the turn. The river was {k-Clubs} and Sammartino took the pot and the bounty with kings full of tens.

Shak's Jacks No Match for Peters

Level 12 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Dan Shak
Dan Shak

Dan Shak moved all in from under the gun and was put at risk by David Peters in the big blind.

Dan Shak: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}
David Peters: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

Shak was going to need a significant amount of help to survive but could not find any on the {10-Spades}{3-Spades}{6-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{3-Hearts} board to end his day. Peters, meanwhile, moved past the 3,000,000 mark.

Level 12 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

After Andrew "LuckyChewy" Lichtenberger moved all in from the button for 570,000, Daniel Negreanu moved in over the top for about 100,000 more. Jake Schindler folded his big blind and Negreanu was in line for a bounty.

Andrew Lichtenberger: {q-Hearts}{j-Spades}
Daniel Negreanu: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}

The dealer spread a board of {a-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}, finishing off Lichtenberger's second and final entry of the day.

Foxen Eliminated by Young in Huge Preflop Confrontation

Level 12 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Alex Foxen
Alex Foxen

Justin Young in early position and Alex Foxen on the button went back and forth with raises preflop until all of Foxen's 1,400,000 chips were in the middle and at risk.

Alex Foxen: {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}
Justin Young: {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}

The {j-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{5-Spades} flop brought Foxen life giving him a set of jacks. The {10-Spades} on the turn was safe, but the {k-Diamonds} on the river gave Young the end of night chip lead and eliminated Foxen just before the end of the day.

Katz Knocks Out Schindler

Level 12 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

With almost 180,000 in the middle on a board of {2-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{5-Hearts}, Jake Schindler raised to 135,000 on the button and Cary Katz called from the big blind to see a river card.

When the {4-Spades} fell, Katz bet enough to put Schindler all in. Schindler called with {a-Spades}{a-Hearts} for top pair, but Katz had been on a diamond draw with {5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and although he missed his flush, two pair was enough to eliminate Schindler and claim the $25,000 bounty.
