McKeehen Takes One from Schulman

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

Action folded to Nick Schulman on the button, who raised. Joe McKeehen called out of the small blind and the big blind folded to send the two poker pros to the initial draw.

Both players drew just one card and McKeehen led out. Schulman quickly called.

On the second draw the two players again took one card but this time action checked through to the final draw, where for a third time each player decided to draw one card. The action went check-check and McKeehen showed down {j-}{7-}{5-}{3-}{2-}, good enough to take down the small pot.

Esposito Chips Up

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

The player on the button opened and received calls from the small blind and John Esposito, who was enjoying a red lollipop, out of the big blind.

On the initial draw, the small blind took two cards and Esposito and the button each drew two. The small blind checked as did Esposito and the button led out. The small blind called and action was back to Esposito, who raised. Unaware that Esposito had raised, the button player indicated a draw of two before being alerted to the raise. The player folded following clarification and the small blind called.

The second draw saw the small blind take two while Esposito stood pat. The small blind then check-folded to a bet from Esposito, who moved above the 50,000 chip mark.

Daniels Gets Short Then Triples Up

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

A player raised from the button and Jake Daniels called out of the small blind. The big blind folded to send the two players to the initial draw.

Both Daniels and the button player took one card. Daniels bet and the button called.

On the second draw, Daniels again took just one card. His opponent, however, stood pat. Daniels slowed down, checking to the button, who bet. Daniels smooth called.

The final draw saw Daniels take one card for a third time and the button again stand pat. Daniels checked, as did the player on the button, who showed {8-}{7-}{5-}{4-}{3-}, which Daniels was unable to beat, leaving him with just 4,500.

The very next hand, the cutoff raised and Daniels tossed his remaining chips into the middle from the button. Only Venkata Tayi from the big blind and the cutoff called, putting Daniels at risk.

On the first draw, all players took two cards and action checked through to the second draw, where Tayi and the cutoff took one card while Daniels stood pat. Action checked through once again, though Daniels did jokingly state that he was "all in".

Tayi and the cutoff again drew one card each on the final draw and both checked to showdown, where they revealed they held queen high hands, not good enough to best the {9-}{7-}{5-}{3-}{2-} of Daniels, who more than tripled up to 14,500.

Brandon Shack-Harris
Brandon Shack-Harris

Brandon Shack-Harris raised under the gun and was called by Gene Mistretta in the hijack.

Action folded around the rest of the table and the duo went to the drawing rounds with Shack-Harris taking two cards and Mistretta needing only one.

Shack-Harris then check-called a bet and drew one, while Mistretta then patted his hand.

Shack-Harris check-called another bet and drew one on the final round, before checking a final time.

Mistretta checked back and showed [8x7x6x4x3], with his rough eight being enough to earn him the pot from the two-time bracelet winner.
