No Repeat for Baker

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante
David "Bakes" Baker
David "Bakes" Baker

Defending Champion David "Bakes" Baker was down to just one small bet and tossed his remaining 1,200 into the pot from middle position. Nathan Gamble three-bet from the cutoff and the remaining players got out of the way.

Both Baker and Gamble drew two cards on the first draw and one card on the second draw. On the final draw Baker and Gamble once again just took one card. Gamble turned up his hand, revealing {k-}{8-}{6-}{4-}{3-}. Baker had a draw to a lower hand, however, and would just need to find a non-ace that did not pair him up. Unfortunately for him, he squeezed a six, giving him a pair of sixes and ensuring that this year a new champion will be crowned in the $1,500 Limit 2-7 Lowball Triple Draw event.

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante
Jon Shoreman
Jon Shoreman

The player in the cutoff raised and was called by the button and Jon Shoreman in the small blind.

On the first draw Shoreman took two, while the cutoff decided to draw one and the button took two. Shoreman then checked and the cutoff bet. The button called, as did Shoreman, to keep the action three-handed headed to the second draw.

The second draw saw all three players draw one. Shoreman led out and, after some consideration, the cutoff folded. The button, however, did not let go of his hand and chose to just call.

On the final draw, Shoreman stood pat while his opponent took one card. Shoreman then check-called a bet from the button. The player on the button turned over {7-}{5-}{4-}{3-}{2-} and Shoreman, rapping the table twice, tossed his hand away.

Neither player wanted to bet as action checked through a second time. Gamble decided to pat while his Friedman drew one.

Ohel Runs Down His Opponent

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante
Randy Ohel
Randy Ohel

Randy Ohel raised in the cutoff and was three-bet by the player on the button.

Ohel called and drew three, while the button player stood pat.

Ohel check-called a bet, improving to a two-card draw, then check-called again, needing only one on the final drawing round.

After peeking at his cards, Ohel put out a bet and his opponent begrudgingly called.

"Eight perfect", said Ohel as he fanned the {8-}{5-}{4-}{3-}{2-} on the table.

His opponent mucked his hand and watched as the pot was pushed to the 2012 $2,500 champion in this event.

Leng Wins a Big One, Turner Left With Crumbs

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante
Ryan Leng
Ryan Leng

The player on the button raised and was called by Joshua Turner in the small blind and Ryan Leng out of the big blind.

Turner and Leng both took two cards while the player on the button stood pat. The blinds then checked and the player on the button continued his aggression with a bet. Turner raised only to see Leng re-raise. The button player and Turner both called to send the three players to the second draw, with an already large pot in the middle.

On the second draw Turner drew one while Leng and the button stood pat. Turner checked as did Leng but the player on the button, as he had done on the first draw, bet. For a second time Turner raised and received calls from both Leng and the button.

The third and final draw followed the same pattern, with only Turner drawing one card while his opponents both stood pat. Turner checked, Leng bet and was called by the button. Looking somewhat disgusted, Turner tossed his hand into the middle. Leng turned over {7-}{5-}{4-}{3-}{2-} for an unbeatable wheel and the button mucked.
