Buchanan Cuts Into Kruse's Stack

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 7,500 ante

After Shawn Buchanan opened to 10,000, Max Kruse three-bet him to 35,000 in the hijack.

Buchanan counted and riffled his chips, then moved all in for 148,000. Kruse quickly called.

Both players then patted their hands without hesitation and the monsters were revealed.

Buchanan rolled over number two {7-}{6-}{4-}{3-}{2-}, while Kruse shook his head and tossed his eighty-six into the muck, doubling up his neighbor to his right.

Shack-Harris Clocks Himself, Then Busts

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 7,500 ante
Brandon Shack-Harris
Brandon Shack-Harris

Kyle Miholich raised to 13,500 from early position and Ryan Leng and Brandon Shack-Harris came along from the blinds. Leng took two, Shack-Harris one, and Miholich stood pat.

Shack-Harris bet out 70,000 after the draw and Miholich responded by moving all in, placing a dog figurine on top of a stack of chips and easily covering Shack-Harris' last 115,000. Leng quickly folded as action went back on Shack-Harris.

The two-time bracelet winner went into the tank for nearly five minutes, apologizing to the table. "Wow, I can't believe I'm thinking about folding this," he said.

Shack-Harris eventually asked that the clock be called on himself. As the tournament floor was counting down to zero, he eventually committed the chips and Miholich showed him {7-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{2-}.

Shack-Harris flashed an eight-six as he tapped the table and made his way to the payout desk.

Kassela Plays Around With Kruse

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 7,500 ante

Max Kruse opened the pot with a raise to 12,000 from the cutoff and Frank Kassela defended from the big blind.

"I was only joking," Kruse said as he took two and Kassela one. After the draw, Kassela led out for 10,000.

"Just ten. You almost have to call that," he told Kruse. The German soccer star didn't listen, eventually making a reluctant fold.

Kassela showed a pair of sixes after dragging in the pot. "No," Kruse yelled as the table burst out laughing.

"I might have been bluffing with the best hand. You did draw two," Kassela replied.

Schwartz Gearing Up For Another Run

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 9,000 ante

Jake Schwartz made it all the way to second place before falling to Phil Hellmuth in this event a year ago, and he's now poised for a repeat performance after taking a chunk off former Poker Player's Championship winner Phil Hui.

Hui raised to 15,000 before the draw and Schwartz called on the button. Both players took one and Hui checked.

Schwartz took the lead with a bet of 30,500 and Hui quickly called. Schwartz rolled over {7-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{2-} and Hui flashed a nine before mucking.

"Caught a deuce, huh," Hui said following the hand.

"Yeah, I caught a deuce. Is that how little you think of me," Schwartz replied before clarifying he caught the four on the draw.

Ospina Felted by Szwarcberg

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 9,000 ante

In the hand immediately following his loss to Yanni Raz, Daniel Ospina moved all in from under the gun for his last 95,000 chips.

Tomas Szwarcberg made the call in the big blind and patted his hand.

Ospina then drew one, showing {5-}{4-}{3-}{2-}, which was up against Szwarcberg's {j-}{8-}{4-}{3-}{2-}.

Ospina drew a king, eliminating him from the tournament, and providing another boost to Szwarcberg's growing stack.
