Buchanan Hits an Ace on Fitoussi

Level 8 : 800/1,600, 0 ante

Limit Hold'em

Action folded to French poker veteran Bruno Fitoussi in the small blind who put in a raise. Shawn Buchanan called in the big blind and they went heads-up to a flop of {a-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}.

Fitoussi continued with a bet and Buchanan called. Fitoussi bet again on the {6-Clubs} turn and Buchanan stuck around.

The river came the {10-Hearts} and Fitoussi slowed down and checked. Buchanan also checked behind and Fitoussi showed pocket queens.

Buchanan, though, had {a-Hearts}{2-Clubs} for the flopped pair of aces to take the pot.

Gamble Can't Be Beat

Level 7 : 600/1,200, 0 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

In a blind versus blind confrontation on a flop of {3-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{4-Spades}, Nathan Gamble bet 900 before the player in the big blind raised to 3,000.

Gamble took his time before calling as both players checked the {q-Hearts} turn.

The river came the {3-Clubs} and Gamble led out for 5,500.

"I can't beat you. I flopped a monster," his opponent said as he pondered the call.

He eventually called and Gamble turned over {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for a flush to take the big pot.

"I have your number," the two-time bracelet winner told his defeated opponent following the hand.

No-Limit Hold’em

Allen Kessler's final 7,500 chips were in the middle in a flip for his tournament life.

Allen Kessler: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Frank Menendez: {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}

Kessler picked up extra outs on the {q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} flop, but could not improve on the {7-Hearts} turn and {3-Diamonds} river. Kessler grabbed his dinner as he exited the room, and made his way to re-enter the tournament.
