Big pot for Taylor

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante
Esther Taylor
Esther Taylor

Pot-Limit Omaha

According to the table, the flop was showing {4-}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs} in a heads-up pot. The big blind led out for 15,000 into 36,000 and Esther Taylor potted from the under the gun seat, both holding a stack around 140,000. All the chips went in the middle for the following showdown:

Esther Taylor: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{6-Clubs}
Big Blind: {6-}{5-}{4-}{2-}

The big blind held a straight while Taylor had outs for a flush. The {k-Diamonds} turn didn't change anything but a {a-} came on the river to give a full house and the large pot to Taylor.

Soltani Knocks Out Anderson

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante
Calvin Anderson
Calvin Anderson

Pot-Limit Omaha

Arman Soltani raised to 8,000 under the gun and Calvin Anderson shoved for his last 10,000 in the cutoff. Solatni called and they tabled their cards:

Calvin Anderson: {9-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}
Arman Soltani: {10-Spades}{9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{7-Spades}

Anderson was in bad shape for the double up and had some hopes when the board showed {q-Spades}{a-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Clubs} but the {j-Spades} hit the river to give the winning hand to Soltani and bust the two-time bracelet winner of the event.

Hebden's Nines Hold

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

Elliot Hebden opened from the cutoff for 7,000. The button called before the big blind jammed for 88,000. Hebden made the call after a moment or two of thought, while the button got out of the way. With the big blind at risk, the two were racing.

Big Blind: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Elliot Hebden: {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}

Hebden was ahead with his nines, and was able to weather the {3-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{8-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} runout to secure the pot, and the knockout.

Salazar Surging With a Bluff

Level 14 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

The heads-up action was picked up with 126,000 already in the pot and a board reading {k-Spades}{2-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}. Aden Salazar led out from under-the-gun for 41,000. His opponent, on the button, made the call fairly quickly.

On the {6-Spades} river, Salazar thought for a bit before announcing that he was all in. The button would have the effective stack of 126,000 should he make the call. He went into the tank for a minute or two, at one point telling Salazar "I got ace high," presumably hoping to be able to make a read. Eventually, me made the laydown.

Salazar, before scooping the pot, showed {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for a bluff. After seeing this, the button retrieved his cards from the nearby muck and showed the better hand with {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}. Nevertheless, the pot went to Salazar who became one of the first players in the field with half a million chips.

Double Up for Dowling

Level 14 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Pot Limit Omaha

The player under the gun limped for 4,000 and so did Chris Dowling next to him and Kalidou Sow on the button. The small blind raised it to 23,000 andteh under the gun called before Dowling shoved for 40,000 chips more. It folded to the small blind who called while the under the gun let it go:

Chris Dowling: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}
Small Blind: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}

The board gave {6-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{a-Clubs}, bringing two pair to Dawling to scoop the pot.

Wong Grabs Some Chips

Level 14 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

Jerry Wong raised to 8,000 under the gun and picked up calls from Joffrey Lhote on the button and Leon Sturm in the small blind.

The flop gave {a-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and it checked to Wong who continued for 9,000. It was enough to make his opponents fold and grab the pot without more resistance.
