Hands Flops Quads to Stay Alive

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

John Hands started the day with less than 10 big blinds in his stack and got them in within minutes of the resumption of play holding {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}. However, he was up against the {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs} of Eric Stone.

There was a ten in the window, but it was followed by a queen. However the full flop read {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}{q-Spades} giving Hands quads. There was no one-outer for Stone on the {8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} runout and Hands doubled up.

"It was crazy how you saw the ten first," commented a tablemate. "Then the queen and then the final ten!"
