Conners Gets One Over on Matusow

Level 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante
Mike Matusow
Mike Matusow

With 12,300 already in the middle on a {8-Spades}{2-Clubs}{j-Spades}{k-Spades}{3-Spades} board, Mike Matusow fired a bet of 6,000.

Clifford Conners was visibly frustrated and didn't have too many chips behind. After about 90 seconds of deliberation, Conners would finally make a crying call.

Matusow said "You got me" and flipped over {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}. Conners turned over {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades} for the second-nut flush and took down an important pot.

Yunis Adds to his Stack

Level 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

In a three-way pot, the flop read {2-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{6-Diamonds} when the small blind and the hijack checked to Nick Yunis who bet 1,400. Only the small blind made the call.

The turn brought the {3-Hearts} and the small blind check-called Yunis for 2,500.

The {a-Hearts} went check-check and the small blind showed {a-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for two pair but Yunis revealed {5-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} for the straight and scooped the pot.

Roussey Continues to Build Monster Stack on Day 1C

Level 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante
Quentin Roussey
Quentin Roussey

A low-stacked early position player opened to 1,000 and Quentin Roussey three-bet to 3,000 from late position. The cutoff cold-called and the early-position called as well.

The flop came {3-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and it checked around.

On the {6-Clubs} turn, the early-position player bet 4,000. Roussey raised to 10,500 and the cutoff got out of the way. The early-position player, with just 16,300 chips, went into the tank for about 90 seconds before finally conceding.

Lescot Loses Coinflip

Level 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

A preflop raise from Eric Lescot in the hijack had the big blind, Xavier Rouayroux shoving all in for 37,000. Action came back around to Lescot who sat for a few seconds before going all in for a bit less than Rouayroux.

Eric Lescot: {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}
Xavier Rouayroux: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

The flop came down {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and with the ace hitting on the flop, Lescot's jacks weren't looking too good. He didn't receive any help from the {5-Spades} turn or the {2-Spades} river and was knocked out of the tournament near the end of Level 4.

Berg Flops Quads

Level 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

Christian Berg was spotted with the {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} turned over on a flop of {3-Spades}{3-Hearts}{7-Hearts}. His opponent had the {8-}{8-} and was already standing up to walk swiftly out the door as the {k-Spades} and {6-Diamonds} filled out the board.

Berg gathered his vanquished opponent's chips thanks to the bingo flop. Meanwhile at the same table, Nir Cohen and Jake Schindler have chipped up.

Hall Puts Koenig in the Blender

Level 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

David Moses limped in from early position before Fabiano Kovalski made it 1,100 from middle position. Gregory Koenig called from the cutoff and then Scott Hall raised to 5,200 from the button. Moses mucked but the other two players called.

Action checked to Hall on the {j-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{9-Clubs} flop and he bet 5,000. Only Koenig called.

Koenig then check-called a bet of 11,000 on the {q-Hearts} turn, leaving him just 23,000 behind.

The {2-Spades} completed the board and Koenig checked again. Hall moved all in as the big stuck and Koenig went into the tank. After taking a moment to think through the hand, Koenig let it go and Hall raked in the sizable pot.
