Cruz Gets Lucky

Level 25 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

A player in middle position opened to 130,000 and was called by Gilbert Cruz in the small blind as well as the big blind player.

All three players checked through the {7-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{9-Hearts} flop to see the {6-Spades} turn. Cruz then led out for 475,000 only to be met by a raise to 1,000,000 from the big blind player. The middle position player folded to send the action back to Cruz. After some thought, he made the call.

The {8-Spades} river put four to a straight on the board and Cruz pushed out a hefty bet that looked to be around 1,000,000. His opponent snapped it off. Cruz turned over {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for the rivered straight, drawing incredulous looks from the rest of the table as the big blind mucked.

"I was gonna bluff anyway," Cruz said, perhaps in response to said looks.

Regardless of the nature of the hand, the huge pot has sent Cruz shooting up the leaderboard.

Massive Pot Results in Anticlimactic Ending

Level 25 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Fabian Schaefer Carreno opened to 120,000 from early position and Antonio Lievano three-bet to 330,000 in the small blind. Action came back to Carreno and he four-bet to 800,000. Lievano then five-bet to 1,600,000 and Carreno called, while several cameras moved in on the table with the massive pot developing.

The dealer spread the {10-Clubs}{7-Spades}{3-Hearts} flop, Lievano bet 1,375,000, and Carreno called.

The {q-Hearts} fell on the turn, Lievano instantly moved all in for approximately 1,800,000, and Carreno quickly called.

Antonio Lievano: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}
Fabian Schaefer Carreno: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}

"Thank god, f*** my life," reacted Lievano, as Carreno also showed relief and the table laughed at the meaningless huge pot that had built up, while the river card was put out as a formality and the two players chopped the pot.

Litsou Leaves Lapka on Crumbs

Efthymia Litsou
Efthymia Litsou

Rok Gostisa opened to 120,000 in middle position and was called by Efthymia Litsou in the cutoff, the button, and Justin Lapka in the big blind. The flop came {k-Spades}{9-Spades}{3-Diamonds} and the action checked to Litsou who bet 250,000. The button folded and Lapka check-raised to 1,000,000. Gostisa also folded and Litsou quickly shoved all in for 2,920,000. Lapka instantly called and the cards were tabled.

Efthymia Litsou: {a-Spades}{3-Spades}
Justin Lapka: {k-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}

Lapka flopped two pair but Litsou had a pair and a flush draw. The turn brought the {3-Hearts} and Litsou improved to trip threes. The {q-Diamonds} completed the board and Litsou earned a double up, leaving Lapka on just a few big blinds.

Mozdzen Can't Hold

Level 25 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Action was picked up on the {10-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop with Nicholas Ramsey and Clayton Mozdzen checking to Zilong Zhang on the button.

Zhang bet 185,000 with his {a-Hearts}{j-Spades} and Ramsey called with {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs} from the big blind. Mozdzen then jammed for 1,370,000 from early position with {a-Spades}{10-Spades}. Zhang quickly folded and Ramsey called with his straight flush draw.

The pot was 3,360,000 and Mozdzen needed to fade 15 outs to survive. The {6-Diamonds} turn locked up the hand for Ramsey and the stream cut away before the river hit the felt.

Salas Makes Smart Fold Against Zhang

Level 24 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Damian Salas
Damian Salas

Action crossed back to the feature table with Zilong Zhang betting 1,240,000 with his {j-Clubs}{9-Clubs}. The board read {q-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{j-Spades}{8-Clubs}{3-Spades} meaning Zhang had trips. His opponent, Damian Salas, had top pair top kicker with the {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}.

Zhang's bet swelled the pot to the 2,170,000 and Salas was in the tank for over two minutes. The Argentinian got away from his hand and preserved his 2,500,000 stack.
