Gorodinsky Flips to a Double; Leonard Denied a Double

Level 17

No-Limit Hold'em

In a preflop contest, Mike Gorodinsky was all-in with the JJ from the button and had the most classic of flips. Patrick Leonard in the big blind rolled over the AQ but failed to get there on the 5322J runout, which allowed Gorodinsky to double for 134,000.

Big O

Ray Henson then raised to 20,000 and Leonard three-bet the pot, Henson piled it in and Leonard called all-in for around 105,000.

Patrick Leonard: AAJ76
Ray Henson: AK532

The A44 flop gave Leonard aces full but he was not guaranteed to scoop the pot, he could even get scooped as well. The K turn changed nothing yet but the 3 river provided the wheel for the chop.

Andrew Kelsall Eliminated in 18th Place ($16,378)

Level 17
Andrew Kelsall
Andrew Kelsall

Pot-Limit Hold'em

Andrew Kelsall was all in and at risk in a four-way pot that checked through on the Q5K flop and Q turn.

All three players checked again on the 3 river and Ray Henson tabled K8 for a pair of kings to win the pot as Kelsall showed 109 to mark his elimination.

It was only fitting that Henson would eliminate Kelsall as earlier in the tournament he playfully needled Kelsall about his recent runner-up finish in the $1,500 Dealer's Choice event after he finished second in the same event in 2021.

"Second place is good when you're as bad as me," Kelsall joked back.

Zack Freeman: 5x2x4x / Ax3x6x3x

Patrick Leonard bet his advantage and also pulled the trigger on seventh. When he glanced over at Zack Freeman, the Brit joked "you scare me" before the latter then folded and exposed his straight.

In a battle of the blinds, Ryan Goindoo bet 20,000 on the 866 flop and then called a raise to 80,000 by Dustin Dirksen. Both shut down thereafter and checked down the 3 turn as well as the 10 river.

Goindoo tabled the AQ74 for a flush with the seven, which narrowly beat the 10953 of Dirksen.

Eveslage Takes Big Bite Out Of Volpe

Level 17
Chad Eveslage
Chad Eveslage

No-Limit Hold'em

Chad Eveslage opened to 18,000 from the hijack and Paul Volpe called out of the small blind.

Volpe checked on the flop of J62 and Eveslage continued for 20,000. Volpe called. Volpe check-called again when Eveslage sized up to 60,000 on the Q turn.

Volpe checked once more on the 2 river and Eveslage fired a hefty bet of 150,000 to send Volpe into the tank. After some deliberation and inventory of his chips, Volpe made the call.

Eveslage tabled K5 for a king-high flush and Volpe showed AQ as he mucked in defeat.

Johnson Takes From Goindoo Once More

Level 17

Badacey

Ryan Goindoo three-bet an open raise by Marco Johnson, who stuck around and discarded two versus one. Johnson check-called a bet and the same drawing action repeated for Johnson to check-call another bet.

On the final draw, both took one each and they checked. Johnson tabled the 4 / 10543 and Goindoo mucked.

"I was gonna fold to a bet on the river," Johnson mentioned and Goindoo could all but smile back.

Johnson Scoops Goindoo

Level 17

Badeucey

Marco Johnson opened from the cutoff and Ryan Goindoo three-bet on the button. Johnson called and drew two as Goindoo stood pat.

Johnson check-called after the first draw and drew two as his opponent again stood pat. Johnson check-called again after the second draw and drew one as Goindoo stood pat.

Johnson checked once more after the third draw and Goindoo bet. Johnson check-raised and Goindoo called. Johnson showed 85432 for an eight low and a five badugi and it was good to win the pot.
